Topic about Japan adds T-84 and VT-4

Im gonna overlook your condescending tone, for now at least, and just gonna calmly ask.

Do you think that thailand = japan? If not, then whats the issue. Thai VT-4 is going to Thai subtree.

Then the fix should be to more clearly define Thailands national identity, a fix that’s long overdue for subtrees in general.

Saying that Thai players just shouldn’t get their tank is not fair.

because thats false equivalency.

Adding ukrainian Oplot to USSR would be like adding chinese VT-4 to Japan TT. It would be rather bad idea due to historical stuff.

However theres no chinese VT-4 being added to Japan. There is however, a thai VT-4 that can be added to japan.

Thailand and Japan are on good terms, and Thailand purchases Japanese machinery.
Ukraine and Russia [seen as the successor of USSR by millions] are not.
There is a massive difference between those two situations.
China is entirely uninvolved in either of those cases.

So Thai VT4 in USSR Tree would be no problem? Why not add it that way then? They can still give it to Japan too. They did this before with other Nations/Subtree/Vehicles as well. Just a mess which is why i wrote my other Text below it no one seems to have read.

Why tho, theres no need.

technically no, but thailand is already a subtree in game.

Also what relation does thailand have with USSR lmao?

Not enough vehicles, so that’d just remove Thailand from the game which is a bad faith suggestion.

ASEAN can’t even start at rank 4, let alone rank 1 with some copy-paste.
Even Israel can start at rank 1 if Gaijin decides to fill in those ranks.

That has not mattered for other past additions.

It absolutely did. Name one subtree that did not have military, political, geographical, cultural connection or some combination of them to the main tree.

Why not ? You can get Singapore ,Philippines ,Indonesia ,Vietnam ,Malaysia all into the tree .Maybe ROK can get in here too.

That’s not a fair thing to do.

Subtrees were clearly established as a way to bring nations closer to equal potential. Japan without subtrees cannot reach that point. The only situation where this could be fair is if all subtrees from other nations were also removed.
Which brings even more new issues such as now having to quickly create new techtrees for those former subtrees, including Thailand, that will perform worse individually without the support of other nations.
This issue will then also extend to all nations, as subtrees are partly added in response to the difference in potential between nations like US / USSR and others.

You might be able to simply rename the existing tree to get around this issue, but that brings its own problems again, namely with DMM but also just the general idea of “removing” the Japanese individual tree in this way, so I don’t think this can function as more than a temporary solution.
Personally I believe the best solution is to rework the subtree system.

I already talked in a bit more detail about this issue and possible solutions here:

Ah yes, because these countries absolutely do not have issues similiar to china vs. japan between them whatsoever, lol.

Beside gaijin stated that they do not consider adding TTs that cant stand on their own without having to be made from several different countries aftter negative feedback from Israel.

And on top of that, theres issue that Gaijin never backtracked from adding a TT or subtree to the game.

But make a huge mess ,aren’t they:)

If they will do it this time - they will get a slur appointed to them.

If i correctly remember you was unconditionally opposed adding Czechoslovakian L-39ZA to USSR tech tree with statement that Czech vehicle shouldnt been added to Soviet tree it’s a bit inconsistent that you supproting adding VT-4 for Japanese tech tree.

I already explained that in one of the previous comments in this thread.

The issue is that the Czech L-39 going to USSR is like adding a Chinese VT-4 to Japan.

But the VT-4 in question is not Chinese, it’s Thai. That’s more like adding a Belarusian L-39 to USSR, which is a completely different situation.

Well L-39 was directly sold to the Soviet Union so it doesn’t clears thing up specially with adding VT-4 as sub-tee

Indeed, right you are. So why it cant be soviet operated and soviet owned L-39? Or any of the warsaw pact nations that had much better relations to soviet union? Why it has to be czech operated and czech owned L-39 located in soviet TT?

Difference is that it is not chinese VT-4 being added to Japan.

its thai VT-4.
