Topic about Japan adds T-84 and VT-4

I want Thai players to vote in our language section so we can gather our opinion and slam right at their face we should decide not them and our voice should be louder as well also wanted to change the direction from the forum’s view that who should we focus more on and who should really listened to. Now they only focus about Japanese and Chinese alone and we should speak louder!

the I consent meme is just the best representation of this silly situation

I would be surprised.

The issue is the implication of power that a “main” nation has over a subtree, especially in the Chinese translation. If Thailand was the main nation that would no longer carry any historical issues.

At that point the only argument against it would be demands that Japan at all costs would do worse than other nations, which is not what most Chinese players want either.

I notice that the VT-4 turret model in the game is not the same as the VT-4 in Thai service. I’m not sure why Gaijin chose this turret variant, and if the VT-4 comes to Thailand, I fear Gaijin won’t update the model.

Because it’s the Norinco demonstrator of the VT-4, which makes it a Chinese owned VT-4. That’s actually a really good choice for the Chinese tree and should’ve been done this way for the US Stingray too.

Iirc also uses superior ammunition to the BTA4 that Thailand uses.

It seems like a later variant. The early one shown in the exhibition has the same turret as the VT-4 in Thailand and Pakistan.

This is why I fear lol

I think most of us at this point are unsure if the thai VT-4 is even going to come to the game. especially with all the constant whining and political crap noone asked for

They never had a commitment. They said “We have no plans of adding Chinese vehicles to the Japanese tech tree yet.” There is no promise here. To say it is a promise is manipulative and you should be ashamed.

*correction, they say they have no plans to. This doesn’t mean it never will, just that they have no plans to. This also is not a Chinese vehicle, it is a Thai vehicle. Designed by China? Yes. Operated by China? No. It’ll always be Chinese to an extent, but this version is Thai FIRST, not second.

They didn’t even ANNOUNCE IT! Why? Because it was LEAKED. Even the leaker said it’d be DELAYED like the F-2A was. The F-2A was only announced to be coming in the update it did, not the update it was originally planned to come in.

Isn’t this topic supposed to be about two specific tanks, as it is a “machinery of war discussion” topic? Yet i see Chinese comments filled with politics and their feelings towards other nations. Neither of these is a "machinery of war discussion "

Exhibit A, B and C:

Spoiler

So I am on the money to some extent here?

It’s that the way things are set up it looks like “sub trees” are nations subserviant to the “main” nation, not that the Thai VT-4 and Japan share a tech tree, but that Thailand is “under” Japan and buy extension Chinese vehicles exported to Thailand are “under” or “inferior” to Japan? Like if a nations flag was flown lower then the others at the UN, it implies “lesser” status.

This is because the lack of credibility of this guarantee was made to quell doubts in 2023. You can understand it as not adding Chinese vehicles to Japan’s direct technology tree, but I can tell you that 99% of Chinese players understand it as not adding Chinese vehicles to the Japanese camp (or Chinese made vehicles will not display the Japanese flag in the player list during the game). This is the fact, without this sentence, there would not be so much debate now.

You failed to read my argument. They say they have no plans. They never promised anything. Gaijin say “we have no plans” meaning “not anytime soon”. If I say to you “I have no plans to change careers” and in 2 years time, I change careers, was I breaking a promise? No. I had no plans 2 years ago to change careers, I didn’t say “I promise to never change careers”.

Oh be for real. Half the Chinese players here doesn’t know that quote exists. They just assume China is being put under Japan, their “great enemy”. You are allowed to have whatever opinion on the Japanese, but you are calling for Thailand’s MBT to be stripped of them because of your historical gripe. Get a grip.

once again

thats absolutely insane take. subtrees are subtrees because they dont have enough vehicles to form a standalone tech tree for one reason or another; not because theres some “jet fuel cant melt steel beams” conspiracy behind it.

This is how subtrees LOOK. They are not saying it IS made to look UNDER, they say that’s how it is INTERPRETED. There is a reason why Gaijin hasn’t use the term “Subtree” in years. The prefix “Sub” has many interpretations. It can be “Under” or “Beneath” (subzero, submarine), it can mean “lesser” or “inferior” (submissive, subservient (which i mean, even then means “Under” but in a social sense)), but in this case it just means a smaller tree within a larger tree. This issue is made worse when translated, as “Subtree” isn’t an actual word in some languages. Also some people might think of Japan as being the “main” tree meaning it holds the power and is better. An example of this being translated into meaning something different (because translators aren’t some 1:1 Perfect Machine), you replied to earlier.

This person isn’t saying its lesser, just saying thats how it looks. Which is an issue, but the community won’t drop the word “Subtree” and the original subtree system still exists, which will forever cause this issue between certain nations.

Will we continue walking in circles or should I mention a square?

Of cause, this will not end because more Chinese players will keep coming up and bring politics.
