Specifically said C/D equivalent. So I assume he means a late C variant like the C8, not the C5 and the C5 is a fraction of its IRL performance and barely a sidegrade over the A/B. R-77-1 is still probably the superior missiles between C5s and R-77-1 in everything except extreme long range BVR fights, but all ARH are stupidly easy to defeat at those kinds of ranges
R-77M would be the appropriate missile to add when Aim-120D, Meteor and PL-15 are added.
Haven’t had the chance to test the Su-33 with my own hands but it definitely looks like a fun jet (if not fully uptiered). I should get back in a squadron to grind it.
The Su-30 is also a nice jet, the FM is poor yes but the radar and missile kit make up for it, hands down the most fun I’ve had in a jet since its release, furball nightmare ;)
Usually I pick the ET when it’s not extremely cloudy, and usually shoot them at non-MAW aircrafts. They are really situational at 14.0 but they can work :)
N010 is imo the best radar i’ve ever used, much superior to that of the su30sm’s. It’s practically un-nut-chable and has better memo tracking than su30’s. And it’s impossible to accidentally teamkill people with it as it’s illuminator is smaller than that of the rest of radars.
i agree the su27sm is better than the f18 for air RB
but it’s doodoofardig compared to literally anything else that is not any other flanker or an f18.
This is somewhat realistic though in terms of kinematics, radar and weapon systems.
Russian jets are just not as good, however in game they are given all the tools to do well.
Su-30SM is probably in terms of meta the 2nd best jet in game.
It’s fast enough, it has excellent Radar, Missiles and RWR and an amazing payload for all game modes.
If anything NATO top performers are held back to allow the Russian jets a chance.
Rafale MICA missing 30km range…imagine how broken that would be.
Aim120C missing short range capabilities
Typhoons Radar still not great and FM changes can’t turn at high speed and altitude without losing all it’s airspeed.
Essentially ingame we are holding back the Western Gen 4.5 Eurocanards to allow the Gen 4s to compete. When ultimately Russia, China and the US knew they had to move to Gen 5 to maintain a competitive edge.
It’s slow with poor acceleration and energy retention.
RWR is decent or even below with probably the worst angles coverage in top tier AFAIK
Every modern fox-3 missile is missing quite a lot of it’s range not only MICA.
It’s delta it will always lose a lot of speed in high G turn and it’s not a big deal in battles.
What? Maybe you don’t know but current Russian and Chinese flankers are models from early 2000(Su-30SM is based on MKI which was introduce in 2001, SM has slighty different avionics). US doesn’t even have any plane in game with ESA radar. The newest and the best radar in game rn is RBE2 and the only competitor for this radar is N011M and J/APG-1.
As it stands right now, Gen 5’s are not needed to compete with Eurocanards. There are plenty of 4.5 gens and advanced 4th gens that could be added that can compete against the Eurofighter and Rafale.
Name me an airframe that has the same or superior kinematics to Typhoon and Rafale for the size of maps and scenrios we play the fastest climbing will always have an advantage in BVR
Su-35 - no
F-15EX - no
J-10C - no
J-11D - no
Gripen E/NG - no
So while yes systems Radar, RWR and MAWs but raw performance nothing other than F-22, Su-57 and J-20
