you cannot because the map isn’t flat lmao, you’re not John warthunder check my profile I know top tier air rb. you’re not special at all.
Except I… do?
then you must die a lot because it’s very situational as I’ve previously stated, and tbh I try not to use it unless I’m try harding because it’s not how radar works irl missiles can hit you right into the weeds unless you’re notching, no escape zones are real. I wish they’d at least turn it off in sim.
I die quite a bit less than the average player
I mean, we still don’t have stock parts.
No, spending 2 full minutes repairing to only be able to move at 3 km/h unable to turn at all hardly counts xD
Stock FPE was nice though.
It’s more like researching smoke on tanks, kinda helpful but way less important than other stuff.
You don’t need chaff, it’s often the last modification I get, you might just have a skill issue.
Nothing has changed, the scenario remains the same, when there was no flare stock the game’s meta was ir missiles going into furballs, multipathing was reliable and 100m.
Now you have stock flares and no chaff, in the fox3 meta with unreliable 60m multipathing.
The scenario is still bad, he didn’t change, he only changed the missiles, the stock grind is still miserable.
The question is not even a skill issue, you just haven’t reached Fox 3 combat, where not having chaffs is completely unsustainable, you have good KD with your planes, the issue is that playing above 13.0 without chaff is the same as playing 11.7 to 12.7 without flare.
Multipathing is still much more reliable than chaff…
I do believe I have,
It absolutely is sustainable, multipath, go cold and jink the missiles,
I may have an acceptable KD in props but for jets I barely break a 1 KD, that’s not great. I don’t even think my JAS-39 KD is above 1.
definitely not, flying low you are subject to taking splash damage without taking into account that you lose a lot of space on the map, you become an easy target
Missile data link easily frustrates this, playing without chaff is the same as trying to dodge any missile with irccm without using countermeasures.
I mean, I never carry chaff and it’s never been an issue. Only time I’ve died to SARH/ARH missiles are when I’m in a possition where I made a mistake
I don’t die to splash damage almost ever.Almost exclusively an AIM-54 issue.
frustrates what? it doesn’t affect MP at all
In my experience splash damage is pretty rare, however, missiles coming in from high aspect will kill as the plane is now in between the missile and the multi path “target”.
Top tier air isn’t just radar missile meta, its active radar missle meta that can be fired for 20km+. What can you do with no chaff besides play defensive the entire game, flying low, behind hills, praying you don’t get smacked by a Fox 3, then if you don’t die, the game is over and you got no RP to even get chaff in the first place?
Fox 3’s were such an issue that they at least allowed stock aircraft to get 2 of them, but you cant use them successfully more than half the time because of my previous points.
The fact that you can get into top tier tanks and start with APFSDS is a testament to being able to be somewhat competitive as a stock vehicle in ground. Starting with HEATFS was close to a death sentence playing against vehicles with ERA, Skirts, and Cages in the same BR.
Hard game-play just to be hard doesn’t make a good game, its not “regressing the game”. I also think that parts should be given to stock ground as well. Just needlessly ball-crushing mechanics in an already ball-crushing game.
excellent first post, welcome to the community, and I concur. no stock chaff wasn’t so bad when it was just fox1s, but it’s utter suicide against fox3s, which have are much more difficult to defend against.
A while ago:
30+G all aspect missiles flying around, stock planes without flares
Now:
Fox 3s flying around, stock planes without chaff
What are we doing?
Doesn’t matter when chaff doesn’t spoof missiles anyway XD
ARH missiles should just never have been added. Nor missiles in general but here we are.
APFSDS is a necessity, not a want like chaff is.
average main tank player comment
Chaff spoofs missiles fine in a general sense, just like how flares usually spoofs missles but not always. Just got to know when and how to use them like any other system in this game. Smokes wont magically save you in GRB but they have more than one use than just spamming hoping someone doesn’t shoot you through it.
If you don’t enjoy playing with/against missles then play the lower BRs that don’t have any. Game has to continue to innovate for longevity, Gaijin is just generally bad at implementing and balancing additions thus the insane power-creep due to their refusal for meaningful decompression.
I agree with the APFSDS is a necessity, but so is chaff. It’s a survivability multiplier and allows for more range in game-play styles like actually being able to climb and fly like an aircraft should, instead of cosplaying as a tank crawling over the hills going mach 2. The fact alone that stock top tier air get fox 3’s should be enough of an argument for them to also get chaff stock. I’m only using this argument for 12.7+, maybe even 13.0+ due to the Fox 3’s being so prevalent and GOOD.
