I tried playing top tier again after grinding another nation for quite a while and it’s completely unplayable, even compared to lower tiers. The matches are basically over within a few minutes with one team getting completely obliterated and the other one stomping them into the ground. The game basically evolves into spawn camping within not even 5 minutes. The teams seem even more clueless than back in 1.0 somehow. The CAS spam is constant, especially by fnf helicopters and the apfsds damage is inconsistent as anything, even more inconsistent than the apfsds back in 8.7. I remember top tier being not that fun even back when I played it more actively but it somehow got worse. This completely destroys the incentive to even grind up to that point to begin with. I was already turned off from top tier for a quite a time now and decided with the Abrams “rework” to try again and it already showed me why I lost interest in it.
Because everyone see top tier as a prize, if you want to have fun in that sense just play your favourite battle rating range, pick your favourite line-up and done, forget about that you can get the next vehicle in the line. Saying that is easy but simply ignoring and playing whatever you have is not. War Thunder evolve around repeating the same match every time again; spawncamping happen when there’s opportunity to, it’s not the entire game.
Another problem is that its not only apfsds, i think it’s the tanks models, like for exmple, i shoot a t-90 (premium an non premium) and guess what, in game it showed it penned, STRAIGHT THROUGH the breech, and killed the gunner, yet somehow the whole tank was fine, and I just got obliterated in two shots.
Then there’s the HEATFS against the leopards, its like the round hit something before the tank cuz not only did it not pen nor say anything about a “non-pen,” but somehow the round disappeared and then exploded and did nothing to the tank.
Either they’ve just nerfed America with both the tanks and rounds, or just buffed some other nations, or it’s my skill issue.

a good player cooks in any vehicle these days and the AH-1G win rate is crazy I cant even get a kill in that with all the SPAA

These things should be removed from ground battles, only losers use them. Got lmur’d then next second the kill cam shows me this stupid helicopter sitting on helipad. Is there an option to skip that kill cam because I don’t even need to see his dumb ass
I may as well tell you how i do it. So i usually spawn it immediately or late in batte. Carrying only unguided rockets, staying 5-12m off the ground. I flank the map, staying low, staying far enough so tank users cant hear me. Then when i go past the enemy spawn (choose ONE spawn to attack) then stay low and stop. Then SLOWLY approch their spawn from behind and then hover right before you are in their view, so you are completely still. Then approach their spawn, and attack, try to stay low (~20m) amd slow until you get a few kills, if you survive past their spawn, fly back to YOUR heli base at max speed. I once capped 2 points and got 2 kills in one spawn at 12.7.
Mate you barely have 44 battles in the abrams. Come back when you have a more statistically appropriate number.

I am. I am going to play ~100 before, but currently its at 44. 44 is still a strong number, the first 15 matches had kept its score at 100.00%. Dont hate for no reason.
It is not just top tier that is unplayable, practically the whole game is now a garbage playing experience.
It is just so flawed now, almost all if not every aspect of the game seems to be broken, not working or subject to cheating and abuse or it could be that all of this is intentional by Gaijin to keep queue times down and frustrate players into spending cash to try and overcome problems that can never be solved and are intentionally put into the game to achieve this result.
For me it is just a time waster like Candy Crush or Cookie Clicker it does not warrant any serious consideration, effort or respect, it is just an over hyped shoot em up.
I am not hating just pointing out that 44 is too low a number for any real analysis to be made. You could have just had really good luck with the teams. I know I have had days where I kept losing but then playing the same lineup and all the next day would be constant wins

Yeah that’s fine. I just said to take another look once you get over 100 battles or even better when you get the same amount of battles as the T-90M
I dont think top tier is super unplayable i mean yeah some matches go down the drain pretty quick every now and then. TBH i think its more of a team issue because when half your team is gone after 5 minutes, you are really screwed.
If top tier was horrible then id have a way lower win rate since its 90% against russia. (most games are at 11.7-12.7)
