After the not so recent anymore update, we have a wealth of new vehicles, including a couple game changers like new EF and SM2. I’ve had a few goes at ARB with J-10A, Mirage 2k and J-11B, some of the vehicles which once thrived in chaos and was able to do pretty well at 13.7/14.0, now suffers from constant suppressions of excess ARH missiles. Being slapped out of the sky by AMRAAMs more than ever before, having the most struggles surviving past the initial brawl has been my first impressions of this update, and I have not felt this since the time when I first came to ARH meta.
What does everyone else think about this? Am I too bad at this or is things really quite harsh on the planes that are just short of being the top dogs?
Nope top tier air is really compressed. Devs forgot to decompress when they added AESA radars, acting like it’s not an upgrade. Typhoons with AESA now dominates BVR early game and flankers with buffed FM and the sm2 with a 120 degree radar dominates mid-late game. 13.7-14.0 gets uptiers to 14.3 constantly. Even my mig29n gets dogfights with typhoons. 12.7-14.3 is what the devs really need to focus on.
If you’re flying straight into the furball, that may be why. These AESA radars don’t play around.
If you really want to enjoy ARB, hop into a 14.3 plane

I mean I normally stay in a half flanking position just so that I can notch quicker but on smaller maps this just ain’t enough, cause I still got 6 missiles coming my way.
And selectively, only the AESA EF, Rafale and SM2 actually dominates. F-18E and J-10C or even the GE actually still suffers.

Let me also add that stock grinds are HORRENDOUS, staying below radar altitude in a jet without boosters or chaff is honestly just depression simulator.
Rafale is still fighting for 1st place with Su30SM2. EF AESA is only effective in the early stages of the game and even then BVR is basically just weeding out the bad players.

Well in that case EF AESA is still effective in a stage, the rest of the planes are effective at basically none of the stages, whether it’s the GE, the J-10C or the Super hornet, nvm the other 13.3/13.7/14.0s. We need decompression of top tier probably to 15.0 RN.
