Top tier air RB is awful for anyone who doesn't posess amraams or amraam copies

For me, it’s:

-70% of the match hearing the RWR and evading missiles (I once evaded 13 missiles a few days ago).
-Finally decide to engage once there’s a few seconds where I’m not being spammed.
-Only 3 enemies alive now.

And then only three things can happen:

1- I am fortunate enough to get 1-2 kills before the match is over.

2- Match ends while I’m still flying in circles at the edge of the map getting ‘missile evasions’.

3- Un-notchable, un-chaffable, un-dodgeable MICA-EM (MICA-EM) -MICA-EM reduces my existence to atoms.

Honorable mention:

4- I finally fire my missiles, but all the enemies get killed before my missiles arrive and I just hit a falling wreck.

5- It is my team the one to be anihilated; so I just keep getting spammed till one of them gets me.

6- My AIM-120s keep losing track and getting charged while MICA-EMs travel across the multiverse to blow me up wherever I find myself to be no matter what I do to defend myself.

Wild take, although it would suit my playstyle more than whatever yours might be, I prefer to stay undetected and solo to prevent getting swarmed in my Mirage so it’s a lot of fun to slam people with MICAs

Game after im done dodging the 500 amraams

probably 2 of them are afk at their airbase, the others are actively dying being shot at by amraams

In my opinion top tier planes carrying 8+ missiles is a big problem which means people are getting actively handheld by their aircraft that can carry a full hangar of missiles on it’s wings.
People don’t care if their launch has a low probability of hit, they’ll do it anyways as they have more than half a dozen left, which amplifies the spam greatly.

Who would have thought that will happen when you have more than a 100 missiles ready to be fired at just 16 enemies.

Missile spam is annoying as all hell and missile count is the direct contributor to that problem.

It’s the exact same seeker as an AIM-120, people only complain about the MICA now because there’s more of them that they die to more often. Other than angle gating it’s the same missile as pre-Rafale.

Everyone missing the entire point because OP used a bad example

MICA can be evaded at longer ranges like any other missile, sure;

But it is impossible to evade MICA at shorter and medium ranges, often from angles from which AMRAAMs could not even dream of hitting. MICAs can pull 50Gs after all, nearly twice as much as AMRAAMs…

That stems from getting right where they’re perfect for use, you have to use the missile survivability onion.

Don’t get picked up

Try to hide behind terrain or approach from angles which you cannot be targeted from, such as behind or above

Don’t get locked

Once you’ve been picked up you have to make yourself hard to lock, work your positioning to be outside of their radar gimbals

Don’t get fired on

Make yourself a bad target, this includes being in a defensive position and preflaring

Don’t be in range

Just stay out of where it can hit you, being far above the target or where the missile cannot pull

Don’t take no defensive measures

The most important step, even if it seems like you’re dead always try to notch, this game has some pretty weird code

Don’t be hit

This can be as simple as a high G roll in HOBS launches, that can be enough to make the missile spin out or fly right by you

Don’t die

Weird, but if you get splashed odds are you may be able to limp back to base

I know you know this, but hearing it again can’t hurt. Every time you die to a missile you have to think about how you could have avoided that, knowing a MICA is a danger at HOBS angles can help remember how to position yourself.

Another big thing is remembering that you can spin out the MICA if all else fails, it’s like out rolling a sparrow. If you see the missile wobbling when it approaches you try to pull a few high G barrel rolls, it just might work.

Personally, even is you have AMRAMMS it’s still entirely awful. Just waves and waves of EF2000’s launching 6 120’s at 30kM

Provide multiple random airfields to spawn at.
Triple the map size,
Double the number of bases
Rewards for defending bases and airfields

Can’t hurt.

What’s wrong about it?
Sure, some players think that’s the way they can make kills. But it’s a tactic. Even if you don’t get a kill, 6 enemies have to go defensive.
Especially in F15i/e it’s my prefered tactic.

And on the other side, you can avoid them with ease at 30km range.

For me it’s the beauty of the game: Try to get into a position the enemy can’t avoid. Or in this case, bring your team into position.

It’s annoying to take off and be targeted 20 seconds later with a missile that has barely any chance of hitting.

This creates spammy gameplay as people don’t really care if their launches are good or not, they can waste a missile or two as they’re carrying more than half a dozen lol

This is the idea of this tactic.
Put pressure on. Force enemy to make mistakes. Bring yourself in a better position.

It’s the same gameplay in lower tiers with AIM-9Bs if you chasing a faster enemy. Shooting missiles at him only to make him move and slower him so you can gain position.

The same in prop battles.
Only the device is different.
Intention is always the same.

But it is so much easier to play that way, when ur enemy has inferior missiles and u can literally in F15E RN, climb, TWS, launch dump chaff and notch, not a chance u will end up without a kill, vs others who have to notch away and have stay aware.
It’s just worse for ARH compared to any other tier cause it is literally brain dead throwing missiles, most of them keeping just one or two, just like how they throw JDAMs and get 1000 points by attacking ground targets. 0 skill required.

There’s no pressure if I can “avoid” the missile by just driving straight and ignore it, it’s just an annoyance. People will brainlessly sling off their ARHs just because they have so many of them, praying they’ll catch someone being afk.

You actually need to get in position to do that with 9Bs, with ARHs you just need to have a good plane, climb and shoot lol.

I don’t know why there is this belief 120s are superior. The only advantage is range. So they only need different tactics.
If you get a hit/kill with a 120 at 30km, your enemy made a big mistake.

So why you are complaining? Be happy about it. They wasted their ammo.
I don’t talk about players not knowing what they are doing.

That’s the problem, that ammo “waste” is barely noticeable as stuff simply have too much ammo.
If someone has 8 ARHs and he spams a few he’ll still be left with 6 which is enough to get like half of the enemy team on it’s own.
