I am playing a mig29 at 12.7.
Notching and chaff doesn’t work against F16 missiles. You just die every time. Missile explode on airplane, airplane explode. Futile.
Every match has multiple 13.7 planes with fox 3.
Every match has F16.
I have been down tiered one time in like 15 matches.
Tips? Seems like “git gud” is not an option here.
git gud is the only answer, notch better
Unfortunately 12.7 suffers from a terrible matchmaker currently. In that aspect you cannot do much, you pretty much need to accept you will be in a disadvantage on average in 12.7.
However, it is not completely impossible as you make it sound. Notching ARH missiles is not terribly difficult once you learn the trick to them. I suspect you’re failing the angle gating, e.g you’re not moving away from the predicted flight path when you’ve actually successfully notched. See https://youtu.be/LmVO-hBJSWQ
the only good tip is dont play the mig29 in anything except 12.7, thats the beauty of sim, YOU the player pick when to uptier or downtier yourself.

The mig29 FM is quite bad so notching is hard. But notching correctly you should be able to notch every missile F16 throws at you.
This is a problem for every 12.7.
If you play 12.7 you’re gonna suffer like everyone else. Just get to 13.3-13.7 where its better. And use the R-27ER. It’s a good missile to score you 1-2 kills every game easily.
Fly it low, in every circumstance
try to learn how to notch. To avoid fox 3 though just go low and release the occasional burst of flares.

I’m gonna be honest, you’re doing it wrong. If I can notch in the F1C, you can notch in the mig29. Watch some bad karma, he shows you how to do it properly.
Oh and 12.7 is the shitest BR in the game’s history of bad BR’s, just dont bother. In fact dont bother with anything above 12.0 without ARH.
