I heard some rumors about new premium vehicles for the next major update. It seems that Gaijin is adding captured Tiger and Tiger II for soviets. Those vehicles existed in history and it is fine to have these additions in terms of “realism”, however, is it truly needed or fun to have both sides with the same vehicles? If more captured tanks (especially copy-paste ones) are going to be added in the game, I think they should be added as event vehicles or battlepass vehicles so it would limit the number of those tanks being used and also give those special vehicles a special identity in the game.
I certainly welcome those captured tanks in history to be added but I also want the gameplay to be stylistic and fun. Higher tier gameplay now is very much the same no matter what nations you play, leo 2 fighting leo2 and T80 fighting T80. I don’t want WWII era to become the same.
Unmodified captured vehicles never should have been a thing anyways. Is there single case of such a vehicle actually adding anything to the game?
Purchased or given vehicles should also be avoided if there are better options available
USSR indeed captured the Tiger N°100 and 121 near Leningrad, and weere sent to a test trail in April 1943. 121 was at the shooting range for testing it’s armor, and 100 to test the 88, and as well for propaganda.
later, a Tiger 1 n°221 was captured near Kursk ans was used by the red army, after it got stuck at the end of December 1943. It was later on used by the 28th tank brigade
