German mains are saying “tiger is now worthless. actually weaker than a french rank 1. Gaijin hates germany and refuses to let the tiger be like how they talk about it on the history channel”
The others are going the opposite direction as a reaction to the crying. You will have to sort through this to find reasonable takes.
I agree with that.
I have played the tiger 2 a decent bit after the change. So far it is not nearly as bad as some are saying. It certainly is not some fast flanker but it has been working pretty well holding down flanks.
Would recommend using the narwal with HE belt. it greatly limits what tanks you can engage but it is very funny to overpressure open tops with it.
If the is3 was at like 6.7 or something, i would 100% take it over the tiger 2. However, the experience of the tiger 2 at its br is better than the experience of the is3 at its br.
I got a nuke on 38th Parallel the day after the nerfs and narrowly missed a second which I threw away with a dumb mistake. So yes, the tanks are fine. Now with the mobility nerfs they’re also not 7.0 worthy and can imho stay where they are. Before that, it wasn’t the case.
I still contend there’s an issue with the lineup, which this nerf has worsened, and that nerfing the JT’s mobility is just being mean, but still, yes, nothing dramatic.
There is no 12.8cm version of the E-75 because as far as we can ascertain, no guns had been settled on for the E-50 and E-75 designs, which were primarily about streamlining production and maintenance. It is also worth noting that Germany really struggled to develop new guns in 44-45. For obvious reasons.
The 105 was turned down because of slow RoF, no way they would put a 128 in a turret with an even slower RoF.
I have grinded Germany first. I have gotten started on all other tech trees, but since I’m not doing them one at a time, it’s taking me a while. In any case, I fail to see your point. Yes, I have played thousands of matches at German 6.7 where the IS-3 was an opponent, that’s why I know that facing IS-3s in Tiger IIs is perfectly doable. Normally the “you’ve only played one tank” argument is used when the other guy claims the opposite tank sucks, because from the outside you don’t always see some of its flaws. Trying to use it when I claim you can deal with an IS-3 in a Tiger II is just bizarre.
They belong at their respective BRs. Before the engine nerf, the Tiger II was 7.0 worthy. Now it’s fine at 6.7. You think that’s “insane”. Go figure.
Like I already said, they belong at their respective BRs. But when the Tiger IIs had better mobility, that was not the case, and we know because Gaijin wanted to raise them in BR. Which does not happen often with vehicles played by German mains.
Can you hit a weak spot the size of a gun barrel?
If the answer is no, you will have trouble playing 6.7 against other tanks too.
If the answer is yes, and the IS-3 is close by to you, you can easily flank it. Hell, you can even track it and still have time to finish it off before it can repair + reload.
If the answer is yes, but the IS-3 is far away, hit the barrel, smoke, and reposition. You gotta pick your fights.
You can keep repeating it’s insane as many times as you want, but the fact remains that the rapid reload of the Tiger II gives you plenty of options to deal with threats, and that the IS-3 is perfectly killable in a Tiger II. I’ve done it many times and so I know it can be done. It is literally that simple.
I’m taking Tiger 2 every time as the match isn’t 16x Tiger 2 vs 16x IS-3, at least I know I’m ready to punch every 7.5 seconds, so much potential which isn’t limited by the stupidly long reload, I can’t stand playing IS-3 because nothing more painful than seeing an unaware target drove past you and you can’t shoot yet lol
I tested it about a year or so ago when another guy didnt believe it.
There are the areas next to the gun that you can pen. Hitting to your right will kill the gunner and commander (wont always kill commander) while sometimes damaging the breach.
I should note this is for engagements below around 800m.
I don’t know alot the E-75 but there were a huge amount of tank model selling the 12.8cm version the 10.5cm was the originally planned but the gun was cancle and instead decide to use the 12.8cm which the Jagdtiger used. So…105mm or 128mm is the only 2 cannons that people talk about on the E-75 no other guns were suggested or said.
I know. But the thing is, tank modelling is a business. What-if and speculative designs are hugely popular, but a lot of the “information” about them is usually pure postwar invention. The model looks cool, you build it, put it on a shelf - but it’s no substitute for the actual history of the E-Series development.
It’s also important to note that Kniepkamp had tried to “unify” German tanks twice before, and had failed both times. And while unification was a sound idea, his meddling is the reason why Germany started WW2 with two medium tanks instead of one. So there is no guarantee that he would succeed the third time around.
But these aren’t cheeks, they are pixels. How can you say IS-3 has cheeks on the turret the same as IS-2. It’s not misleading, it’s manipulative.
I won’t be arguing any longer, since it’s a waste of my time, I’m arguing with someone who has only played Germany and claims German tanks are OP because he is doing well in them.
I have both Tiger 2 and IS-3. Saying that Tiger 2 was almost equal to the IS-3 before the nerf is just retarded. The reload time is the only thing Tiger 2 beats the IS-3 at. IS-3’s reload is long, but every shot is a guaranteed one shot and you have amazing reverse speed to hide and reload.
