Thoughts on the first SU27 for ussr?

So, Been playing this thing and recently unlocked the 27er’s for it. Imo its pretty good aircraft. Has good missiles, decent enough radar and enough thrust to bvr semi decently. Only bad things about it are the dated rwr (Making it harder for dodging ARH missiles), the slightly terrible stock grind, and how it sometimes likes to skip like a rock when dogfighting at slow speeds.

But from what I’ve heard from alot of people is that its worse then most other fighters near its br.
Mainly i was wondering what all of your guy’s thoughts on it were? Is it terrible for you guys? is it great?

This isn’t true anymore, and it’s easily on the top 1/3rd of all 13.0s. It has had a few flight model buffs recently as well, which make it better than it was a year ago.

You would’ve even liked the stock grind when it came out.

Oh those were the days.

Arguably one of the best planes at 13.0, if not the best. The SU 33 is simply better because it’s arguably the same airframe with more missiles.

27ERs can outrange Aim-120s, 27ETs are basically confirmed kills within 4 KM rear aspect.

The only thing it lacks is energy retention, but the R73 makes more than up for that.

only down side is the SPO-15 other that it is probably the best 13.0 right now along side the Su-33

Not really after the latest FM change, it can hold speed pretty well I’d say, unless you are still talking about the 33 here.

Did the whispers tell you this? Nobody says this.

Not true at all. I don’t know why people say this without inspecting. SU-33 has a worse FM and half the countermeasures

Also blatantly false.

theoretically yeah, but unless you’re in a su-30sm2 they don’t as you gotta drop lock for them to guide in if you’re fired on by a fox 3.
so since we’re talking about base su-27, it’s definitely not better than amraam

really only against super hot targets that don’t have large calibre flares like f-15e or something.

agreed

depends on situation really. Super close, yeah the tighter fov on r-73s/ other short range missiles are better.
But because the r-27et has really nice flare - to engine ratios (better than r-73s/other gate width irccm missiles) direct rear aspect on super hot targets like f-15e, it’s better than r-73 as long as they can both see flares

I’d rather have an r-27et than a pl-8b or pl-5e2 or something

What stat controls this

can i say that f4 kws is in the top 3 ? really fun when you know how to bvr.

Unfortunate that these are not on the AAM spreadsheet

they are, its this stuff, just in meters

So essentially, if both seekerheads can see flares, r-27et is more resistant to flares. But because the fov is tighter on the r-73, it will see flares less often when it’s super close to the target

well the thing is the SU33 sustained turn for instantaneous which is only useful for R73 shots they just made a specialized 1v1 plane version which is SU33 Su27s pretty good tho

i mean su-27 actually has better instantaenous than the su-33 anyways because it’s 3 tons lighter.
I think the only thing su-33 has over su-27 is stall speed
