Thoughts on the first SU27 for ussr?

Are you competing with Alvis for worst takes on the forums?

I have spaded both 27 and 33 and for general gameplay, they behave exactly the same except the 33 has more missiles and a digital RWR.

27ERs outrange 120s; this is simply a fact. Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

If super hot means “engine on” then yes. Other than people flaring them instantly, I have had very little trouble with killing people within 4-5km using R27ETs.

okay it’s a fact yeah but like… unless you’re in the su-30sm2 it doesn’t really matter since:

  1. You can’t shoot it at multiple targets at once (even though you should be able to like irl on su-30sm2)
  2. You have to keep lock on the target (fox 3s like amraam have their own radar)
  3. You have to stay somewhat head on to the target (again, unless you’re in a su-30sm2)

Meanwhile the other guy using amraam can just turn away or just notch.

So you just get a nice fat amraam sized present in your cockpit or you’re forced to stay defensive in the 27er carrier
(again unless it’s an su-30sm2)

Cool. The Su-33 weighs significantly more. 27ERs dont outrange Amraams. Both of those are facts. The Su-33 also has half the countermeasures, also a fact.

imo the engines are not good enough on the su-33 to the point where I’d take it over the su-27.
Something like the su-30sm2 that gets actual good engines is actually kind of nice because even though it’s almost 3 tons heavier, its engines makes it accelerate faster than even the su-27sm (better than it other than pure top speed)

Probably should’ve said time to target, it’s a better descriptive term.
And even then, r-27er doesn’t have the best time to target among all missiles. For under 10km, it’s mica
