Thoughts on making top-tier SPAA immune to multipathing?

Yeah sure

Not sure, probably

yes well if you cant defend the missile you die… duh.

As it should be

its not but its much better against mp targets

Well I don’t see them making it realistic for SPAA only. If it is ever made realistic we would get it for A2A ARH missiles as well and by that time i am expecting for them to add ECM and EW to jets which would just make CAS situation far more worse then it is currently. Considering CAS already decide (most of the time) which team would win it would just completely ruin ground rb. Along with ECM and EW we would also get far modern weapons like AGM-158, FNF brimstone, hellfire longbow etc. So i would not like to see CAS completely dominate ground RB any time soon and hence its a no for me

no, i shoot in asb them at 20km against the airfield aa and they hit

i tested this a few months ago and regardless of the altitude they would never hit(it was 25km not 20) but yeah 20km mav shot is a bit of a meme way too slow to not et intercepted.

edit: i just tested it and the first shot fell short, gonna make a video rn, i went a bit faster and higher and yeah the maverick hit, not practical however i could go faster in my panda than that maverick was going

Kept messing up the trim

i tested it too, you can do it but its not really viable.

Yeah, but it is still possible

yeah i wish mavs were faster tho

I think they have excessive drag

It gives spaa more than enough time to intercept them. And 20km launch is only possible in point lock mode so you cant do anything to moving targets. Like mbts which kill your ground teammates and get caps. Also how are you going to do this strat on “bad weather” variation of maps?

If you’re shooting at MBTs when there’s SPAA up, you are doing something very wrong

Focusing on biggest threats to your team isnt something wrong. At least not as wrong as throwing 4-6 subsonic mavs from 20km range at sams that will intercept them easily.

Suggestion so bad it made me think TT1 wrote this.
Most of the maps that arent desert or arctic environment already take away roughly 40-45 meters with trees. Reducing it to 1-10 meters effectively just gets rid of multipath period. Now i get that a lot of people have a hard on for getting rid of CAS from the game but this is just boring suggestion every time it comes up. All this would do is that theres 0 counterplay from any plane against SPAAs on maps that dont feature a mountain to hide behind, outside of maybe the extremely annoying Kh38ML slinging from the airfield and that should not be the norm.

I play SPAA myself a lot, i enjoy playing SPAA and if im being honest most ARH platforms are more than usable (SPYDER and TanSamKai really need some work to be honest but atleast for the former i think they are getting a new derby). Biggest issue isnt really the multipath for these SPAAs but rather helicopters like guardians, Z10MEs and Mi28NM being effectively immune to ARH as long as you put chaff on periodic release and fly perpendicular to the launcher/missile AND the unreliability of modern AESA radars when it comes to picking up and properly monitoring incoming targets/ordinance.
Its way more common to have a missile like LMUR with very high loft slip past the radar ceiling and killing the vehicle.

Generally most people that want reduction to multipath in relation to the SPAAs are just not good at playing SPAAs.

its not even MP thats the problem for the helis when it comes to ARH missiles lmao, Its the fact that when they hover they are within the gatewidth for notching a missile so a single chaff is enough to get rid of a missile that wont even proxy near the helicopter. Like when i was in the guardian i popped periodic chaff on, flew to the side and the BUK missiles with 25m fuze range flew past my apache by roughly half a meter.
Helicopters in MP cant see the entire battlefield to fight back, however helicopters that just effectively hover and avoid everything to fire back, thats the real problem. A helicopter with the massive radar signature the moving rotors give off should not be able to just one-chaff a missile. Being in MP is least of a problem, them chaffing everything away while being able to just fire at tanks unobstructed is the real problem.
