I agree, all the matches will be F-35 vs Su-57. Unless they allow missile datalink between players. Then F-35 in the front and missile buses like the super hornet in the back.

F35 will probably get nerfed into the ground. My guess is that stealth will barely even work and they will find some way to make the su57 stealthier than the f35

All of that really depends on how Gaijin models stealth and whether they increase map size. If stealth stays similar to how it is rn with the F117 then im not sure if its beneficial enough compared to the advantages late 4.5 gen fighters have

Stealth will be extremely hard to code. In game we don’t even have radar returns being stronger when the plane shows an underbelly or the top. Just like Gaijin denying the terminator’s internal belt, they will pull some BS for the Su-57 to be better than the F-35 for “balance”.

why would you need larger maps for 5th gen than 4.5 gen when they have lower detection ranges.
They will make the su57 the equivalent to a ufo. Take for instance the su30sm, its like a ufo, in real life thats impossible because the engine would choke out and the pilot would die. The su57 is based of the su27 airframe but watch it be 100x more maneuverable and get 30 r77s

That will be Gaijin’s way of “coding” stealth. And we just need bigger maps anyways.
for top tier i think the EC maps are already the perfect size
The missiles. Also stealth gets progressively worse as it gets closer to the radar since the beams dont have enough time to scatter. Also IR missiles work at close ranges on them because of the engines still being very hot and the plane itself warming up

we have been through this before as long as a missile is notchable max range kinda doesn’t matter, no one is just gonna sit there and wait for a missile 80km away to fly over and kill them for free
Personally, before 5th Gen can even be considered, an overhaul of whats already in game needs to be done. There are so many dodgy flight models, inconsistent missiles (aim120 for example), massive compression issues etc. This all needs to be addressed in my opinion before 5th Gen could be considered viable in game.

Compression is definitely a big issue. But sadly Gaijin will never fix this because it will negatively impact queue time. (Who actually cares about queue time if it will make the match they play more fun?)

Gaijin will earn more of a profit by adding 5th gen first than fixing 4.5.

Not sure what you think the meteor is, its no faster than your average missile it just burns for longer due to its ram jet. at the ranges and altitudes people play at in war thunder as long as your missile can have decent speed at 60km its gonna be just as good.
I think it will be a game changing addition, so much at a point to matchmaking be terrible for whoever soul even thought about existing there that isn’t something between F-22 Raptor to J-20 Chengdu. But I think Gaijin may find a way or another to fit middle term aircraft that is effective enough to compete against these top machines.
Stealth still a very early mechanic in-game, F-117 Nighthawk get itself some hiccups and pop in the radar some times, RAH-44 Comanche, I don’t know but it should be more effective, personally I think F-35 Lightning should be more stealthy than Su-57 Felon, but both being multirole fighter jet, may be on par, but is widely known that Su-57 as 5th-generation airplane lacks a lot in this regard when compared to more advanced machinery like F-22 and J-20, for this, Su-57 will be the ‘grand-master’ when comes to electronic warfare.
Me, personally I’ll put my bets on J-20, apparently it has larger weapons count when compared to others, somewhat near Su-57 electronic warfare and maybe F-22’s of combat capabilities, it is, a middle ground in the 5th-generation airplanes, meaning F-35 is far behind but is far from bad.
The J-20 has an internal missile count of 4 half that of the F-22 and even less than the SU-57 meaning for it to have any longevity in a war thunder match it would need to give up stealth to do so i dont see it beeing all that meta in a war thunder environment.

I’m totally for their introduction, anyone should be so gaijin can inevitably take that U-turn back towards Century series aircraft and other stuff they missed.
