These are the results of my most recent match. Needless to say I am a bit upset. I spent the last 15 minutes of the game searching for this player only to find him moving in and out of the map boundary in a far corner of the map. By then I had run out of fuel and the match ended. Of course I reported him for passive behavior, but this doesn’t get me the hundreds of thousands in SL that I should have gotten for playing the game well. There wasn’t even an indicator on the map to show me where he was. As it stands, the current system of awarding kills and determining victory only rewards passive behavior.
Ya know they make this order called “Blind Hunt” right?
They destroyed 24 ground targets, probably achieving their objective. That is not passive. Just because they didn’t feel like feeding you a kill and you lost on points isn’t their fail, it was yours. Don’t hate the player…
There should have been, so just a tip for the future (It doesn’t excuse their passive behaviour but might help you if you are in this situation again): When there is a short time left in a match and only one player on the enemy team (that hasn’t interacted with anything for a while, i think?) the map marks the square where that player is red so that you at least know in what sector they are in.
A bonus tip is to start destroying ground AI in situations like these as that bleeds a lot of the enemies tickets and gives you a chance to catch up, overtake the enemy and possibly win. It might also draw out any player that is trying to win by hiding with a ticket lead as they suddenly aren’t as secure in their lead.
If you also have an abundance of orders there are some that point out enemy locations and give you a bonus if they are destroyed within a certain time.
Used them all up on guys like this. I don’t know how you can seriously argue that flying in a straight line for 75% of the match doesn’t constitute “passive”. What’s more, he was playing a fighter 1.0 br higher than mine, so really he wasn’t fulfilling his objective and I wouldn’t have caught him even if I had blind hunt. No reason this game is in such a bad state when you’ll defend stuff like this

That is what I am saying. The red square did not appear.
-
I am in a mig 17, my teammate in a Lim 7p. There is not enough ammunition on either of those planes to match the ground kills, after 8 kills, definitely not.

I used up all of my orders on guys like this already.
There is no defense for this kind of gameplay. Cas should not be a game winning strategy against players obviously playing better.
This thing seems random to when it appears, plus when it does appear it even sometimes highlights the wrong square (confirmed for when they appear on map they are in a different square).
Don’t suppose you know of any reference to how the red square works?
I “love” how “fighter mains” refuse to learn/accept how the game works…
If you call people “fighter mains” you’re just bad. Nobody “mains” a type besides ppl who can’t get a kill to save their life so resort cas and bombing to grind. Sorry I’d like to play the game instead of shooting ground targets for 2 minutes and watching youtube for the other 20.
Just checked your statshark. Don’t even talk if you’re not even past rank 3 air.
Can we keep this on topic and not result to insulting someone because they disagree with you!
I’d probably look at the passive behaviour of 50% of your team before having a pop at anyone on the enemy team for playing the objectives and winning the match.
Massive skill issue on your part if you cannot figure out that there are multiple ways to win a match and nobody owes you a free kill.
IMO there is no user who can tell another user how to play the game if someone what’s to do CAS that’s there choice. As long as the user isn’t breaking any rules do what you like within the TOS guidelines!
Will do.
How is playing for 5 minutes then spending the rest of the 25 minutes essentially innactive not breaking the rules? That is, by definition, “passive behavior”. A reportable offense.
Their*
I had it happen rhat the last player airfieldcanped the whole time and my team had such a massive ticket dissadvabtage
Staying alive with that score you gained and your skill bonus does reward you immensely.
While weird, 25 minute matches after getting ~2000 score and 100% skill bonus are the best matches to have for RP progression. SL-wise sure, it sucks but the bulk of your RP gain is in the “1.22 RP per second alive” multiplied by activity%. 1 kill is worth 100 or so RP for comparison - and is notably NOT affected by the 2x/1.34 multiplier for win/loss.
That user in your example destroying AI targets isn’t against TOS if they where hitting those targets they would of been low and slow and somewhat of a easy kill for yourself or teammates to counter earlier on in the match. if they do that at the start of match then ran to the AF and sat there for the rest of the game then you could put a report in for them sitting on the AF but not for hitting ground targets .
I’m not saying he owes me a free kill. I’m saying he owes me a fair fight. Which, in the 10.0 fighter he was flying vs my 9.0, he definitely had. You didn’t even even try to argue that he wasn’t being passive, loitering beween the map boundary and his airfield is textbook passive behavior. My teammates were bad, but at least they tried to play the game.
I would like this situation in every match. Some noob is flying all over the map and I can calmly farm pilboxes and AA. I could even land 3x - in the end, the amount of experience you gain depends on the time.
That is exactly what I said he was doing. He would fly from his airfield on operation pyrenees to the corner map boundary, abusing the teleport mechanic so that I couldn’t catch him before he got to the airfield again. I said in this post that I reported him. The point of this post was to get an answer to multiple questions.
1: Why did ticket bleed not kick in to prevent this?
2: Why did I not see a highlighted grid square when he became the last player active on the enemy team? I lost multiple minutes searching for him because of this.
3: Can gaijin do something more substantial to prevent this in the future?
These are questions as forum moderator I hope you can answer.
No one owns you anything its up to the other user if they wish to fight you as I said before if the user has hit all his ground targets and then ran all the way to base and hide there for rest of the game you can put a report in for passive gameplay.
