ULQ should not be available for computers with dedicated GPUs
Dedicated GPUs can in fact be really shitty and would need ULQ to run the game decently with good frame rate.
It’s actually cringe to see your condescending comments when you’re the one who spewed total BS. Guys let’s ban ULQ for every dedicated GPU out there, doesn’t matter if it’s from 2010 and can barely run the game at 1080p. - thought process of a German main.
It’s fairly obvious that you made a mistake but you’re for some reason doubling down on it. Happens when your ego is bigger than your brain.
Nah, the only solution is to limit all players to one predetermined setting so no advantages are there to be had via hardware. For example, medium settings at 1080p and 60 fps.
Moving goalposts much? Just check the hardware if it doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for running the game at low settings. It’s not rocket science.
Hell, they could even make a database of allowed ULQ devices and if your machine’s GPU/iGPU is in that database, ULQ is made available in settings.
People who have top specs and hardware should not be abusing ULQ.
This needs to be answered before anything else as not everyone has the same definition of playable.
It still gives you an unfair advantage, which is something you vehemently try to remove from the game.
At least you can click on a button to negate that ULQ advantage, meanwhile others can’t just spawn a top tier system, right ?
I know it’s a waste of time as it’s comically easy to expose double standards in your arguments.
Running the game at maxed-out settings in 4K doesn’t provide any gameplay advantage. That’s simply how the game is meant to be experienced at its highest quality.
Owning a 4K monitor doesn’t automatically give me an edge if anything, playing at 3840×2160 can actually be less effective than using 1920×1080, since higher resolution can make targets appear smaller and harder to spot.
You get better picture quality with higher resolutions at same screen size, which paired with increased monitor refresh rate indeed provides an advantage. Won’t even talk about FPS advantage that’s inherently there.
There’s no reason to keep circling this argument it’s plainly evident that players with high‑end PCs abuse ULQ settings to secure an unfair edge.
The proof is already in the videos: they clearly show how ULQ manipulation undermines gameplay balance.
At this point, the issue speaks for itself. Further debate only distracts from the reality that this is a well‑known and widely acknowledged problem across the community.
The small group of users with powerful PCs who continue to defend it are doing so from a position that reflects poorly on them.
People with high end systems already abuse benefits mentioned above to secure an unfair edge.
If you want to limit ULQ, you’ll have to limit those as well for parity.
This is why all of this fuss can only be solved by offering only a single graphics setting for everyone, which for example might be 1080p on 60 FPS and medium settings.
Players with high‑end systems keep insisting they don’t exploit ULQ, yet the evidence says otherwise.
I’ve already provided a direct comparison video 4K maximum settings versus ULQ and it clearly shows how ULQ distorts visibility and mechanics.
Where exactly is the “lack of advantage” in that demonstration?
Stop trying to deflect from the core issue. The question remains unanswered: if your PC is fully capable of running the game at maximum settings, why deliberately drop to ULQ?
The only logical explanation is to gain an unfair advantage by stripping away foliage, effects, and visual detail that are meant to balance gameplay.
This isn’t about preference or performance it’s about manipulation.
ULQ use on powerful hardware isn’t necessity, it’s exploitation. And until defenders of this practice can provide credible proof to the contrary, the community will continue to see it for what it is: an intentional distortion of fair play.
I refuse to play the game on anything less then movie settings at 4k, I don’t need to say anymore on the subject the video above says it all i refuse to use ULQ to gain an advantage…
You still continue to ignore all of the benefits that come with high end systems.
If you’re really interested in complete parity between players and their systems, we should’ve already agreed on the “one setting for all” proposal.
You mean how people buy high refresh rate monitors to get an unfair advantage ?
At least one can be toggled on in settings without spending any money.
Yes, playing on triple digit FPS on your high refresh rate monitor isn’t a necessity, so it should be limited.
Provide me with solid proof that running the game in 4K on a 4090 somehow grants an advantage because so far, none has been shown. Where is the evidence?
The video already presented compares 1080p at maximum graphics against ULQ, and the difference is undeniable. It’s night and day: the ULQ player gains a massive advantage by stripping away foliage, effects, and visual clutter, making spotting and targeting far easier than it should be.
Let me be clear, I don’t take issue with players who are limited to ULQ because of weaker hardware. That’s understandable.
But when someone owns a high‑end system capable of running the game at maximum fidelity and chooses to drop down to ULQ, that’s where the problem lies. It’s not necessity, it’s exploitation.
This choice isn’t about performance, it’s about deliberately manipulating settings to tilt the balance of gameplay. And until defenders of ULQ use on powerful PCs can provide credible proof that it doesn’t confer an unfair advantage, the community will continue to see it for what it is: a distortion of fair play that undermines the integrity of the game.
