Back when I started to play this game I played with medium settings (around 20 fps) but at the past year had to switch to Ultra low because of sudden fps drops. Ultra low settings will be always handy as the overall graphics of the game progresses.
Well there you go, you should be on Maximum settings, do you ever feel the need to use ULQ ?
Who are you to tell me what I should do?
It doesnt cause anyone can click that settings in the game and play like that. What is unfair is using the config that replaces tree and foliage with blank texture so you see through. And that one is bannable.
I’m not, but it just shows you’re creating an unfair playing field by lowering your graphics settings to squeeze out an advantage.
In reality, you’re only cheating yourself, not anyone else. I’ll keep enjoying the game at maximum settings while you do your thing.
The simple fact is you’ve got a PC that can run the game perfectly well, yet you deliberately choose not to and that speaks volumes.
It’s not unfair. Everyone can click it.
You’re sidestepping the real answer here, it’s a moral issue, and what you’re doing simply isn’t
Ok so I am not cheating but am just immoral?
yes its a choice and i choose not to use it
YOU chose not to use it.
Ok. Everyone has a choice within the rules of the game.
That’s something only you can answer. From my perspective, you might as well be, but that’s just my view. At the end of the day, only you know the truth
Cheat in what way tho? Especially if youre doing cas, it is 100x worse to be able to use ULQ as terrain can become messed up allowing targets to be inside the ground at times. Messed up vision or blurry lines as well can happen.
Also tank gameplay ive never noticed it being useful for me personally. Thermals wise too at toptier where it can matter youre better off without ULQ.
Its not even a cheat, since the game literally allows it lmao.
Yes, I do, and I stand by it. I believe it’s immoral for people with powerful PCs, fully capable of running the game at maximum settings, to exploit this option for an advantage.
I have no issue with players who genuinely need it because their systems struggle; that’s fair. But when those with high-end machines deliberately bend the rules, it crosses the line. And I don’t care if someone argues it’s “just a setting” that can be changed it’s still an unfair advantage.
For players with less capable PCs, it’s a necessity to make the game playable. For those with strong hardware, it’s simply abuse.
Where can I get a gtx 1080 for $70
I wasn’t referring to planes, it’s more comparable to the ground environment.
Not only that, Sim is literally unplayable with ULQ. Planes disappear when they are in front of clouds.
Planes are part of ground rb, i think you know that lol? You would be at an disadvantage for cas immediately especially in a game like this where cas is a major force multiplier.
And if youre worried about some grass for ground, many people in the competitive zone dont use ULQ, as its not an overwhelming advantage at all. Whilst its nice to not see grass swaying in the way of the sniper scope. Its not as broken as you think it is.
At the end of the day, this isn’t about bending rules, it’s about respecting the spirit of fair play. ULQ exists to keep War Thunder accessible for those who need it, not as a shortcut for those with powerful rigs.
If we care about immersion, balance, and integrity, then we should also care about how settings are used. I’ve made my case, and I’ll leave it here: accessibility should never be turned into exploitation
