There is honestly no purpose for ULQ anymore

Yet not prohibited or prosecuted by Gaiijn as an infringement like chat abuse, literally cheating or teamkilling.
Deal with it.

Graphics settings literally exist to give you more FPS.

this one specifically states it is for OLD GPUs not more FPS

You need to realize that setting was added a decade ago for GPUs that were old back then because those might not even support some of the stuff the game is running on/with.

According to you, using that setting with some older GPU like 1080ti is just fine because the card itself is old ? Using it with RTX 5050 would be problematic because it’s new (but has similar performance to 1080ti) ? That’s some great thinking.

We all know ULQ/low settings are designed for low end PC users to get the chance to play this game. There is no rule saying one cannot use these settings with high end PC either. It’s there for those who want to use it for the FPS and other advantages. Personally, it feels like cheating so I don’t do it. Done it to do some CAS and it made spotting tanks from the sky so much easier some months ago, it’s dirty. But it’s still a needed setting for people who can barely afford fancy or average PC from around the globe.

It’s not unfair. Anyone can use it. That’s like spawning an M26 then crying “un fair!!!” when someone else chose to spawn a T26E5.

Like film settings?

Clearly you did not read the setting itself, they do not recommend the use of the setting if you can play on at least low. And yes that setting was added for GPUs that were old then, but now the GTX 9 and 10 series GPUs are old, which can run the game so clearly no use.

Definition of “being able to play” differs from person to person, as some might consider 30 FPS playable while others might not.
Things older than GTX 9 and 10 series still exist and can struggle with the game, so ULQ will always be an option for better performance.

Playing on movie isn’t intended either.

Also “not recommended” doesn’t mean “not allowed” or did English get an update recently?

Also define old. Is a 1080Ti old? By some standards it is. It doesn’t even support mesh shaders. It came out only a year (roughly) after the official War Thunder release.

Don’t care you can vote for my post to be removed, i still stand by it

The black and white of it is people who use ULQ (who has good PC’s), have a Huge advantage, videos posted previous show this, plain and simple

Yes that is true. But you would probably lose an order of magnitude more players who rely on ULQ than you would prevent people with good pcs using ULQ.

Basically reducing the playerbase and gaijins income purely for the sake of getting rid of something that barely even affects matches.

i don’t mind ULQ being there for the people that need it, its the people that can run the game fine “who choose the option to gain an advantage” that’s what i disagree with

And how would you go around changing that? Locking out the option for anyone that has a system better than something you arbitrarily chose?

Also how do you define the lowest acceptable level of performance on lowest settings before ULQ is unlocked? What if someone runs some programs like discord or a browser in the background and it affects rheir performance?

Put bluntly - yes,

if system < minimum specification allow ulq
if system > minimum specs disable ULQ

Allow standard options if disabled players can tweak

Min specs and recommended specs are set by Gaijin

Aye, there’s the rub.

Do you really trust Gaijin of all the companies to implement this in any sensible way.

Don’t get me wrong I am not strictly against this idea of limiting ULQ. I just know it’s not as easy ro implement as it seems and I sure as hell don’t trust gaijin to do it right.

I mean i went through a phase of seeing what could run and what couldn’t be run in my younger days and i generally found min specs to be slightly generous in a lot of games i would expect the same at the end of the day Gaijin are the ones who truly know what their game engine is capable of seeing as they work with it daily.

But looking now it seems they haven’t been updated for a while anyway maybe they are still accurate maybe not. I haven’t run a pc that low in spec for years and if anyone is running a PCs that low in spec please consider an upgrade or buy a console

These are the minimum specs stated by Gaijin on Steam page:
Processor: Dual-Core 2.2 GHz
Graphics: DirectX 11 level video card: AMD Radeon 77XX / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660. The minimum supported resolution for the game is 720p.

Sorry but I highly doubt dual core 2.2GHz CPU would allow you to run WT at a playable frame rate. Not to mention having stable ~100 FPS.

Or people won’t do any of that and keep playing on ULQ, while feeding on your tears ?
