The War Thunder community is getting worse, or am I wrong?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve felt for the last two years that the War Thunder community is getting too “dirty.” I don’t want to get into a conversation about specific groups, but I’m going to To sum it all up, the two most worrying groups, gooners and furries, are currently rare to get into a game and find at least 5 weird comments, really weird, As if that were not enough, gaijin is also seeking to attract even more attention from these groups, previously with pillows and currently even with premium tank packs with quite a few sexualized anime characters, on the other hand we have the community that is really racist to unpleasant levels and although it pains me to say it, 90% of these are either Chinese or Russian,I am aware that both the Chinese and Russian population are really nice, but those who play War Thunder are extremely “nationalistic” has anyone tried to translate the messages that they write in the game chat? Try it sometime, but I can assure you that 99% of the time they write some racist or homophobic comment, or they directly insult a colleague or enemy in the worst way, and you know what the best part is? If you translate it and respond politely, they will respond even worse and make comments like “I don’t talk to idiots who don’t speak Russian.”,I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, but what do you think? I think the new community that’s coming to the game is somewhat unpleasant, especially for a military game like this one,Is it so hard to have a normal community? Because if I’m honest, the War Thunder community is becoming even worse than the community of well-known games like LoL.

I witnessed this, and there was several chinese player’s who racially attacked me simply for being japanese. I have reported a few that I translated

some player’s are very how would you say? Questionable

As a Chinese player, I think its stupid and I acknowledge this problem. We are fellow Asians with shared heritage, so why even be toxic to fellow Asians?

To be honest, I find playing War Thunder less and less enjoyable and it’s all due to continuous messages of that style or worse, I don’t know, maybe Everything could be solved if Gaijin added an option to not see the written chat and only leave the tactical chat with classic messages like “Attack point C” without having to read the nonsense written in the chat

Yea on certain tanks I have very questionable decals (literally just plastering with japanese flags cause me n some friends goof around with tanks we barely play)

still some player’s see it as a free excuse to just be a horrible person and let it ruin their day

Thanks to comments like yours, you make me feel some hope in this community.

most of the time I just try to disregard it and focus on myself playing, often if I feel like a certain BR isnt up to the level of fun/enjoyment I aim to have I just move to a different BR (like yesterday top tier was just hell of cheater’s/questionably good players) so I went to a lower BR (8.3) with a friend who was doing that BR, we ended up having alot of fun

I do agree it is getting less fun, but I think simply because of the same map’s repetitive modes

I truely like the game, it has alot of stuff most game’s do not or portray reliably however there’s just a increasing list of why the game isnt becoming it’s peak

Well, in this post I’m not talking about the game in particular, but about its community. That War Thunder is an unbalanced game is a problem well known to all, but that really depends on the gaijin.Sadly, we can’t do anything there. However, if we can try to change the community and it would be by asking gaijin to do something about it to avoid so many unpleasant moments, we know very well that reporting messages is useless.Gaijin doesn’t take reports seriously and that’s a problem.

The community sometime’s is just truely peak and chill

however most of the time I feel like I just logged into twitter on a tuesday morning and there’s a never ending list of thing’s to complain about for 0 reason

You may be right, in my case I just enjoy getting home after a long day at work and being able to relax with War Thunder, in my case I have no problem at the moment with the game modes, since i am a casual player,My only problem is with the decline of the community, which although it does not occur in all cases is something quite remarkable and is increasingly seen.

True, true…

Absolutely true, in fact that can be seen in this very forum, 90% of posts are an unpleasant discussion that seems fueled by each person’s ego.

This is why personally I prefer to look at certain nation discussions like the JASDF or Japanese ground discussion. Yea there is one person that has to just be a butt but most people there are super chill and are willing to discuss

I hope the War Thunder community returns to being as united and respectable as it was years ago. Not many years ago, everyone united due to the changes in the game’s economy, but after that union, everything was in decline

personally it’s mainly, “I dont get what i want so I must cause a problem or I must cause a problem on the internet to entertain myself” or “I got what I wanted but its not how i imagined it”

I totally agree with you

I myself was and sometimes still like that, but it’s got to the point for me personally, why should I complain? why should I make my day worse/shitty over something on the internet?

so I just kinda sit back and just dont complain. cause end of the day gaijin’s word is final

The internet in general has been on a downward spiral since 2018 tbh. And nothing can really be done to fix (not talking about the furries or gooners btw. most don’t cause any problems and are pretty chill) how some people act, the best thing to do is report and move on with your day. (i know, I’m very original.)

They should probably add an option to disable all chat except radio commands
