The Type 5 Ho-Ri II: 夢のまた夢, Dream of a Japanese Fortress

Hopefully with the next update cycle coming up we get our answer Fall Update usually has dev bog mid August.

→ yes I know its not a Science but with the devs being different this cycle and seemingly won the war on the leakers I think something special is happening September updates tend to be a set up for end of year update. Ho-Ri removal coming in September around the update likely means something. (Maybe Ho-Ri II but who knows)

They already dont plan on adding B78 or GSR that were actually built i don’t think they will add this even if it is the more real version, so much for uniqueness…

I think we have enough information to model it. Compared to the 105GSR there’s a lot more.

They also might still surprise us, especially B78 seems like they could model it as well.

wait why arent they adding those? did i miss something?

We don’t know but with update season coming people are hedging bets reason why the mods gave us a warning on the most off topic discussion. They are not removing Ho-Ri without adding two vehicles in to replace it.

My bet is sub tree vehicle not Type 5 Ho-Ri II

Oh i see thanks and yeah that sucks

The only vehicle at a similar BR from this subtree is a cold war light tank with HEAT-FS with a completely different playstyle.
It’s not going to replace a 6.7 WW2 vehicle. Adding these cold war atgm boxes has been a mistake. They should have gone with paper vehicles instead. Lot of good options that aren’t WoT level made-up.

I’d hope so, but they did that for the R2Y2s so who knows.

There’s also not a lot to replace it in role, with all options being some form of light tank / light SPG or way off in BR like a proper Ho-Ri would be.

Maybe we could see something like the Type 19 (mobile wheeled platform with the Type 99s cannon but more limited firing angles and no armor), 90mm carriers like the V-150 FSV (Either with Cockerill cannon from Thailand or MECAR cannon from Indonesia/Malaysia) or Indonesian AMX-13-75 SM1 (AMX-13 with Singaporean made mobility upgrades but without the upgraded sights or experimental APFSDS of the Singaporean version), but none of these would really fill the same role as the Ho-Ri.

Ho-Ri has such good armour

M47 and Type 99 Lineup is far from being bad, and if you already have to Ho-Ri you can keep it.
i prefer this by far than putting it at 7.7.
Still no BR changes for Type 81 and Chu-SAM Kai tho.

“These” and it’s one vehicle, which is foldered, and isn’t essential for the lineup.

The 6.7 lineup is currently a decent recoilless rifle rat with scouting, two medium tanks, an easily uptiered LT and SPH from 6.3, and a premium medium if you’re willing to spend the money. AND, if you’re really still stretched thin at this point, there’s no reason you can’t uptier either of the ST-As since they use ahistorical HEATFS.

That’s three 6.7s, four 6.3s, and a premium 6.7 to boot. The Type 60 ATM is literally irrelevant if you don’t want to use it, and the Ho-Ri Prototype already has a replacement so removing it is a no-brainer.

With the addition of the new aircraft 7.3 line up is great next to 4.7.

4.7 is my SL grinding line up 7.3 is my I want to do rocket runs.

It’s good that they have opted to remove both versions of Ho-Ri. Until recently, it was not really understood that even WT’s “Ho-Ri Prototype” is much different than the mockup plan.

It’s probably highly optimistic to think that the developers will add the “Ho-Ri II,” but if they do, I hope that they take caution with it. Despite the fact that we have a side blueprint and basic specifications, there is still some uncertainty about its appearance, mainly due to the single perspective of the published drawing.

Definitely true. But I’d reason a recreation based on those drawings would be much more historical than what we currently have. And also-somebody correct me if I’m wrong-such a recreation would have no more guesswork than modern MBTs due to classified documentation

The rearfacing autocannons are just peak

Isn’t the performance the 200mm (one on the prototype?) even if it gains the 33 extra pen of the longer cannon. I don’t think it’s mobility and armor as a casemate TD is worth 6.3-7.0… At best I think it’s 6.0, it might actually start being strong at 5.0. If it gets the 700HP engine? That HP/T ratio goes from roughly 13.75 to 17.5 if it’s about 40t. Which would be an insane P/W ratio. Then I’d say it’s 6.3-6.7 worthy maybe. But never 7.0 unless it’s got like a 4 sec reload with a 10 plus round ready rack.

I understand the rangefinder but that’s a very map reliant thing at that BR. A lot of times it’s so slow you’re better off guesstimating. Unless you’re aiming at the slower tanks with good armor if which you may not pen anyway and end up Swiss cheese. But hey idk. I was wondering if you could explain in your terms what makes it worth 6.7-7.0 in capabilities. Because the premium (prototype) edition already in game has better armor, and even then with it seemingly being better than the blueprint edition doesn’t play as-well as the production version does. Not by a long shot at its own BR.

If it had 10 cm gun, then why you gave pictures of 12 cm gun

This is weird sounding Ho-Ri discussion.

I just thought the same. :P

Volks, please keep it on topic, a german prototype AA is not exactly the topic here.
