The super ethical addition : Chemical shells

the Unit 731 didn’t make good ammunition, I think. they produced bombs, but still bad because Japan only used small bombs?

However, it’s not possible to say that Unit 731 made incredible munitions.

even talking about bombs, i only remember about the Ceramic Bombs.

Ceramic (Uji) Bombs: Standard metal bomb casings required excessive gunpowder, and the resulting heat destroyed the fragile bacteria. To solve this, scientists developed specialized porcelain/ceramic bombs. The shells exploded mid-air using a small charge, releasing thousands of disease-carrying fleas to infect populations below.

Even so, I don’t think it would be easy to use them against tanks in WarThunder.

I still can’t understand it, are you planning to drop plague and disease bombs against the armor of a tank?

Yes, much better to use one message and quote multiple other replies that you want to reply to friend 🙂

Just in case you do not know how, first, select/highlight the entire post or specific section you want to respond to, then a popup titled “quote” will appear, click on that button (or press Q):

image

Then, it will show up in your reply like this:

This is what the code will look like while you are writing:
I still can’t understand it,
Then, reply to the first message. Then repeat the same steps for each additional reply that you want to respond to. Makes it much easier to follow your entire through process, and keeps the thread from becoming as bloated 👍 Furthermore, if someone else replies while you are making multiple separate responses, all of your messages will get split up, further scattering the flow of the thread. Especially in more active threads, it becomes chaotic very rapidly if everyone is making multiple new replies instead of combining multiple responses into one message 😉

And like @iegaatdao mentioned, you can edit your post any time and add more quotes and replies, etc.

Click the pencil icon at the bottom right of your message to “edit this post”:

Yup, at first I was making the point for shells, and then we somewhat moved far from the subject. Bombs wont be useful for their imprecision, even tho shells, especially larger caliber could indirect fire open-top. They would be somewhat even more useful than flametrower, while giving a larger use of the fire damages of them and napalm.

precisely the BMPT topic haha

open tops oflower BR would be killed.
Won’t be very useful in general, but already better than flametrower.
And indirect-fire an open top with those could be fun.
i mean there are multiples useless things in war thunder, totally not speaking of a toilet on a plane, or a HEAT-FS without explosive on a T-80.

lmao, you are doing it too @30x170_APDS-T 😂 Better to combine multiple replies into one message friends, cheers!

(Especially when you are responding to one user across multiple of their replies, or even different sections of their replies. Makes it much easier and better to have quotes in your reply, rather than only clicking the “reply” button, and we cannot see what you are replying too without clicking and/or scrolling back up, and back down, and back up, and back down lul.)

you better not watch my discussion with myself in the Japan HQ topic. I have a message edited 4 times, and reponded 3 times or 2 to myself.
Because I was exploring a 200 page PDF about shells.

Lmao, I LOVE dense edits like that! I will also use the # to make separate sections, especially for edits so people know I made changes if they want to know exactly what has changed since they first replied.

First section size

Second section size

Third section size

Forth section size

They go all the way down to 6 or 7 lul. ALSO! When you use those, it allows you to link directly to a specific section. Very useful for “FAQ” threads etc that become large. This also allows you to make an “Index” in a large post, using those URL links to let people click directly to a specific section, or even other replies that you make later on, on the same thread, or anywhere else on the forums. Allow much greater control for your links/references rather than being limited to only the main reply link.

Code looks like this:

# First section size
## Second section size
### Third section size
#### Forth section size

A chain icon appears next to these “#” sections, that gives you the direct URL to that section: The super ethical addition : Chemical shells - #29 by 30x170_APDS-T

Called “Headers”? I can’t remember what they are called.

Anyway, I have enjoyed messing with the various formatting options in the forums here. Lmk if you ever need/want help with this stuff 🙂

Ok but back to topic, All shells that relied on animal-borne diseases can’t be added, only those who used chemicals

animals would be way to hard to simulate and to unpredictable even, makin a Friendly fire autoban festival, also diseases kill in the span of days or hours.
A mustard cloud to the face would kill a person quicker.

The difference in treatment is bizarre.

Probably would/should be, for the context of the game (ie; “crew knocked out”). Many AFVs until the Cold War drew engine air thru the crew compartment as ventilation. So a chemical cloud would get actively sucked into the tank.
Even if the crew weren’t reduced to doing the “funky chicken”, they would be too busy masking up to fight the tank and out of the game.
I guess the game could abstract that by doing an RNG roll for each crew member becoming a casualty and by giving a delay mask up time say, the same as the crew swap delay (agility skill).

+1 for Western Cluster Munitions.
What does the Geneva Convention have to do with historical weapons in a game with fantasy values.

This topic is going way better than i excepted at the end lol

Notably war thunder actually does model the impetus behind cluster munitions conceptually (lots of small bombs are better than one big bomb for complicated math reasons) so considering their main downside (so many UXBs like so many) isn’t modeled in the game in any real way and wouldn’t really be much of an issue if it was they would be Kind Of Cracked for both CAS and base bombing

Look up top attack cluster munitions and imagine TOW2-B’s raining down.

The technical debt will accrue until morale improves
