SU34 is perfectly balanced, why?
- It doesnt have thermals
- Kh38 is very dead husky-hungry, it is very difficult to lock into someone that is standing near a dead tank
- Low clouds/Rain/Storm weather (which these times seems almost 2/3 of all matches) makes the SU34 nearly unusable, and forced into a very limited ATGM/bomb run
- SU34 is a brick, if there is an enemy plane you will most of the time die while looking at targets after a few seconds (no thermals, longer time to find targets). It carries 2 R77 and 2 R73, but what is that worth if there is an Eurofighter in space launching AIM120B as soon as you spawn, or a F16 hugging the ground after launching it’s payload WITH THERMALS to find enemies?
- If by some miracle you spawn early and scores some frags, the chances of dying on Airfield are extremely high if there is no other friendly plane up, afterall… high tier ground RB airports are basically helipads, absolutely no defense if someone goes to you while you are reloading/taking off.
- No alerts for Heat seaking missiles, so LAVS, Ozelot, Type 81 (and other SPAAs), helicopters, smokeless AIM9M carriers can easily get an SU34 that is busy looking for targets with NO THERMALS… and specially after the launch when you are turning back to airfield, which happens when you are already quite close to the airfield
There are very specific circunstances where SU34 will score 5+ kills in a single bombing run, and in these circuntances a F16/F15 would do just as well as the SU34.
Most of the times i go specifically after enemies alone (flankers and spawn killers) because they won’t have a dead husk nearby them, or SAMs chilling in their spawn, because shooting at an enemy in a contested area is quite the risk, the KH38 may go to a dead husk… to an ally as often happens when the enemy gets behind cover, or the enemy will simply die before it arrives.

I have great idea, how to forget about su34. Like it happened with su25sm3. We just need another aircraft, with 8 kh38mt.

4 minutes is generous, I have had heli comes up at 2 minute mark launching missiles from helipad to spawn. Some people still think CAS isn’t a problem, makes me sick to the stomach.

also wasnt there a method people used to make the SU-34 have thermal’s with the addition of putting 1 missile?
Evaded? No. Outplayed? Yes Gnss bombs is your best friend agains S1. But im doing that with laser gbu or cannon.
Now they get EFT so that’s a moot point.
EFTs and Rafale, so that’s 40% of the countries in the game.

27SM doesn’t carry the same amount (or even more) A2G ordnance than Su-34 though.
It is an excuse as almost half the nations have it.
heh it took almost half year for German to finally got some decent fighter jet to keep up with other nation but it a god damn excuse when Russia don’t get anything for one patch lol

1- It doesn’t need thermals, KH-38s have thermals.
2- So are all IR missiles, that doesn’t change the fact all of them out-range all SPAA with no evidence that SPAA can CONSISTENTLY intercept AGM launched ordnance from high altitude against tanks.
3- Okay, you don’t spawn CAS that match to begin with…
4- So is the F-15E, this doesn’t change their lethality.
5- Then don’t take off when you hear your SPAA go off?
6- If you get within IR missile range at top BR you’re playing CAS wrong.

you said 40 percent of nation have gen 4.5 and it became an excuse (and RU got new planes every patch along with US)
German endures it for six months straight with only F-4FICE and noone give af.
