Well, before PL-12 nuke few days ago they were more or less a side grade, less pull but more range and acceleration. 2xPL-12+4xR-77 was pretty much THE loadout to go. Difference is that MKK isn’t played by zombers and ground pounders, because Chinese tree doesn’t have hard meta top tier jet like SM2 that will make “Flavour of the month” crowd to flock to buying MKK and grinding China

if it’s acceleration what’s on the table i’ll take it over HOBS capability, that enough makes PL-12 an upgrade over R-77 for me. that is, before the nuke.
PL-8B’s airframe being based on the python is also more attractive to me than the R-73 since i rely on sniping more than anything
Everyone have preferred playstyle, but META is slinging Fox-3s from HMD ranges while being already in a notch or as close to a notch. In this conditions R-77 outperforms PL-12.

Same here, i abandoned spading SM2 because i just don’t find it fun. Gonna save RP bonuses for Su-35S when we eventually gonna get it. Hopefully it will be more on par with the competition and not like right now where Rafale and SM2 are pretty much competing with each other, leaving everything in the dust

I usually do that if a plane isn’t fun enough to play. If i am having fun, i am fine with wasting the bonuses (i already have entire USSR tree researched) and playing more games to compensate for that.
I just don’t want to waste the bonuses as it is hard for me to grind as an F2P player and also not very great in top tier.

Well, any downtier in it is pretty much a free reighn, radars below 13.0 can’t even identify a target, while you have AESA and knows exactly what’s coming.
