The Su-25SM3 is overtiered in Air rb

The Su-25SM3 is 12.3, now this on it’s own seems fine, 2x R-73’s, pretty good weaponry. However, you can get the same thing, with 2x R-60M’s and an IRCCM jammer at 11.7 with the Su-25T, so for all intents and purposes, the SM3 is worse for air. It does have more countermeasures and a MAW, but that should bring it to 12.0 at most. But then you see the competition at this br, at 12.0 all Mirage F1’s have IRCCM missiles, at 12.3 the Mirage 2000’s have IRCCM missiles, and then you have the Mig-21 Bison with R-73’s and an HMD. All of these jets are supersonic and way better fighters with IRCCM missiles. There is even subsonic jets at 12.3, The Harrier GR.7, with twice as many IRCCM missiles as you and it’s a better fighter. I get IRCCM missiles warrant a br increase, but this being 12.3 when you see IRCCM missiles on way better platforms is ridiculous. Now, I am not saying we need another A-10C situation, that is dumb already, but lower the SM3 br, it has no reason being that high.

And you have the A-10C with 4xAIM-9Ms and hud at 11.3.

wow, HUD isnt smth new to planes in wt. even on attackers

But my Spitfire doesnt have a digital HUD. Therefore A-10C is OP with it :P

The answer here is to raise the br of the Su25s, A10s and all other stuff that have IRRCM missiles below 12.3

Yeah, the only reason A-10C is op is because of the HUD. Great reading comprehension.

One thing of note none of the other aircraft have is the KH-38MT. You may ask, why is a TV AGM mentioned? It has a delta-V up with and above many competent SARH missiles (IIRC more than R27), and as a TV AGM it’s seeker cannot be flared, chaffed, notched or multipathed (essentially, unbeatable seeker. It won’t work on dark / night-ish maps well, however.), it also has an overload limit of about 5-6G, meaning its actually capable of making a connection, especially if an opponent tries to just multipath it or underestimates / miss-counters it (mainly burning too much energy trying to dodge at extreme range as it cruises in; the low overload preserves energy). Additionally due to the nature of targeting pods and target points in RB, it actually CAN be locked like an HMD.

Now, asides all the pros and uniqueness of this missile, it’s still a 5-6G missile with no proxy fuse. This plane is still absolutely worse than the others tier for tier imo. Also it posesses a MAW and more CMs (a bunch large cal too) than other SU25’s, something that is according to gaijin a BR warranting change (look at Su22/17 variants), but I believe the other SU25’s have more than enough lol. Should also be noted the KH29 and 25 T variants also

I should also add on there is the SU-25BM sitting a BR step further down than the T or 39, still with 2 R73’s, 2 R60s, and 2 KH29T’s. AFAIK the lowest tier true IRCCM missile ingame for like a year (now tied with the A10C), that was always an established as the bottom end of IRCCM. But comparing this jet to the A10C you see a mostly worse platform still, but there’s enough side grades to call them equal tier since in a vacuum 1v1 the su25 should win a fight between the two (it’s against everything else the A10C is better).

Imo, as a player who more mainly plays sim than ARB these days mind, I actually think all these errant planes should go up a step in air modes, and the A10C (and perhaps the BM, why is it a step lower besides event vehicle/ money anyways?) 2 steps (12.0), and the SM stays where it is. Attackers shouldn’t be fighters, or if you’re using one as a fighter (which I do all the time), it shouldnt exactly be fair.

Sidenote, really wish enemy aircraft in the targeting camera range rendered beyond 20km, it makes it really rough to use the KH-38 in an effective timeframe.

nothing op in HUD…

KH38MT is IR guided, it works at night too

Jaguar IS is also 11.3 these days with 2x Magic IIs

isnt it was added way later than other planes with irccm missiles?

Su-25BM August 2023
Harrier Gr7 - recieved Aim-9M September 2023
Su-39 June 2023 (but recieved R-73s much later, dont recall when, maybe decemeber?)
Jaguar IS February 2024

So a bit later

The KH-38 has no proxy, it isn’t a competent air weapon.
