The state of ground RB (2025)

Thats why I said “not like in WT”.

Show us when in history of armored warfare tanks captured a city.

Yes they are. Tanks are primarily lonrange standoff weapons and I trust more tank crew I spoke with than any military posts. Check any armored forum and ask how often tanks go into cities unprotected (no infantry).

Agree, and this goes both ways. They need to move the airfields further back.
Just yesterday i was killed while landing on the airfield on Alaska, because i was visible for a split second on the iris players excel sheet.

You’ve spoken with no tankers, and you didn’t read my post before replying.

Read it again.
Infantry is not needed if there is no enemy infantry.

This map is goated tho

Yeah the maps are simply not suited for the gameplay

I see people try to spawn the SPYDER on these maps and they die in like 2-3 minutes due to their huge radar mast

I think is time we getting new gamemode, like the Assault gamemode in Enlisted. I think we can have a huge map and letting 2 team pushing the frontline

The community had always been asking for one, the dev team have tried with the whole novorossyisk yet they kinda failed to make things enjoyable

They really need to cooperate with the community on optimizing the gameplay before introducing the gamemode

Or simply have bigger maps with more than 3 capzones perhaps

When I see a map like this while playing my Challenger 2 I wanna cry. The Challenger 2 was not meant for these environments, that’s why the British employed IFVs to help mechanised infantry in city environments, sure you can use a Challenger 2 for urban settings with its urban package, but a Warrior/Ajax is far more valuable in a city than a Challenger 2 is, Challenger 2 would only be called in if there’s enemy armour that the infantry for whatever reason cannot dispatch or if there’s a blockade that needs a tank’s finesse to take care of. But sure, lets do these city maps, they only benefit Russian and Chinese tanks who have ERA that absorb 600mm pen APFSDS like its wet noodle.

What if a nation doesnt have vehicles within its line up for most maps?

I don’t think the problems is the capzone, I think the problem is the spawn. The fixed spawn is too easy to block and hunt by the opponent, I think they should change the spawn spot to the spawn zone

The Bhishma is probably the only tank in Britain’s lineup that works with urban environments lol
(Yes I have two SPAA and a plane because I hate CAS at 10.7 that much)

The gameplay does get stale just capping the same cap zones in the same locations quite often.

Even if they kept the same objective, they could make more variations.

Like for example:

  • On even bigger maps, the cap zones could be in different locations each match
  • A king of the hill style gamemode, where the cap zones moves each time its capped or after a certain amount of time, so the battlefield constantly shifts
  • 5 cap maps?
    etc etc

Would also love some arcade gamemodes like CTF.

and thats the one tank I will never ever play on principle

It and the Vickers Mark 7 were the only tanks that made 10.0 Britain bearable.

Im trying to get the Mark7 unlocked before they lock it behind even more vehicles to grind. But I actually dont mind the CR1s. They are actually quite well balanced unlike the CR2s

The problem with such narrow city maps is that, like the ones already in the game, they depend on reaching certain areas to control the map. In street areas, it’s important to have a tank that can reach certain corners and wait for an enemy to pass by, and if possible, use a tank that has some general protection to occasionally block shots and kill the one shooting at you. That’s why the Challenger suffers so much, since it’s not as fast as the other MTBs, and its armor doesn’t allow it to defend itself at close range. I’ve said it a thousand times, maps should be large, with well-made areas that allow a certain level of movement, long-range shooting areas, and routes where you can flank to attack enemies at a certain distance. You can also put city areas where you can put a capture base. Also, to avoid monotony, you could make the three bases and respawns from north to south, and in other games they would put everything from east to west. And to avoid spawn camping, you could put that instead of two respawns, there were six distributed around the edge of the map.

I did spoke to real tank crew. One real world tank commander in German army was also forum member on an old forum. Didn’t saw him on this one. And all whom I spoke with said tanks avoid going into urban areas like a plague and don’t go into urban areas without infantry.

You didin’t read the post what was I replying to. And post was about real world.

In real world infantry is always present. And tanks alone never captured any city in history of armored warfare. In fact only infantry captures anything.
