Well, Mk 24 vs Yak-3U is not exactly fair to Mk 24 under typical in-game circumstances, lol.
I’ve been killed a lot by P-51 Hs using Ta 152s 😭
obviously YAK 3U is a demon its the only 5.7 id say that can beat basically ever prop within its WEP altitude via energy trapping
Fun fact, for A8 basically nothing has changed as with 4 cannons it obliterated things it actually hit before that change anyway.
But I have found myself to do very well in F8/A8, mostly because I don’t respect the plane at all, and in WT being super aggressive oftentimes beats being smart and calculated vs randoms.
Of course if the enemy is actually smart, it’s gg, but such is life.
the A8 would be fine if it got same airspawn as the F8 as it can handle itself well with it
The problem is, recently a lot of maps are all-airspawn, which made planes like F8 a lot worse, and in case of Ta-152H - it’s just no longer fun to play, as facing airspawning Spitfires and P-51Hs, and even Yak-3Us is just so damn annoying (3U at 6500m will probably lose a dogfight, but it might take AGES to get a firing opportunity on this little piece of shit).
I truly dont understand why people think this plane is any good it just isn’t
Kinda the same with this, like yes the 3U is broken but why arent people talking about the VK-107 its just better
ive never played hence why i never mention it also its kinda rare to see
I’m a very average player but its one of my most played vehicles and it is CRAZY good. So much better than the 3U. I have 18 deaths and 74 kills (4.1 KD) which is stupidly good for me, not quite as good as the German LA-5FN but still. Somehow it only has a 1.25 KD overall but thats just a skill issue honestly. That thing pulls energy out its ass more than the LF 9 does - most played is relative as I dont main any one vehicle at all
it isn’t good at the furball simulator, it basically wins if its left alone with it’s opponent.
People forget it’s existance and also the 3U is more fine tuned to ARB (both are still undertiered)
I find the K-4 is just a better aircraft than it all round. Want to 1v1 an opponent? K-4, it has better energy retention, no weird rudder, no weird wings so it turns better, and the DB-605 more than does the job, plus with either 3x 20mms and 2x 13mms / 1x 30mm 2x 20mm 2x 13mm it has better firepower. It can also do better in a furball
I actually don’t even like playing the Yak-3U (still hate going up against the buggers)
I assumed VK is 3U with a different engine, but overal a very similar package?
If it flies better - I have no idea.
Ta-152H was an excellent plane, because outside of 3U, which required some SERIOUS effort, it could farm US and Soviet teams, as La-9, Yak-9UT, F2G, F4U4B and F8F were just getting roflstomped.
These times are long gone, though.
Yeah for some unknown reason I always struggled with the D-9 but in the last few days taking out this superior 5.3 plane generally resulted in me getting 2-3 kills in most matches.
But for some unknown reason, I hardly ever encountered people at altitude and 90% of the enemy was in a low alt fur ball.
It’s like people stopped climbing and it no longer makes much of a difference whether you have the energy advantage in a D-9 or A-8.
When I played the D-9 I always ended up getting killed by P-38Ls or Ks. Not to mention any other allied 5.7-6.0 plane.
But then you always had the enemy team at alt and no energy or player advantage.
Crazy how the performance can change when the enemy just gives you the win basically.
Much more akin to the earlier Yak-3s as the VK engine is an inline, in real life the engine was so powerful it shook the airframe to pieces, because its an inline carries less drag with it for more power
But otherwise, wing loading, power to weight etc. are similar, so I wonder why there should be any noticeable difference.
I play 3U just like I play normal Yak-3, so…
It just feels like it has much better energy and a bit more energy retention
Propellor planes at the same rating as the 900km/hr su-9 before gta 6
Weird… Well, I guess someone has to test this one, because it really has no business being better here.
This is just rage bait. You imply a 100% full uptier ratio which is backed by nothing else than your imagination.
If you are so fearful of a way faster plane then you should stay away from rat planes in general. Prop play is centered around a mix of climb, speed and turn - and classic rat planes like A6Ms, I-16s or Spitfires have to wait for mistakes of their enemies.
But F Mk 24s are actually fast like hell and can dodge jets the whole day - i had massive issues with catching Mk 24 when flying the 262 A-2a or the 6.0 He 162 - and both go above 1.000 kmp/h at low alt in a dive. After watching the replays it was clear: This thing goes 870 kmph in a slight dive at low alt.
No offense, but if you replace MiG-15 with Wyvern, P-38L or F8F-1 and Spit with A6M, Ki-61 or Ki-100 you have exactly the same effect. Correct flown are the first 3 unkillable by the last 3 - and somehow nobody cares.
I played at least 1,000 of these infamous 6 vs 6 matches on Pacific maps in the last years - and even as my WR with JP was rather high it was extremely frustrating flying 3.7 JP in constant full uptier loops as one experienced US/UK player could decide those matches - and not a single JP fighter (J2M2 was 4.3 those days) was fast enough to catch the first 3. I was even considering buying the JP Fw 190 in order to catch Wyverns…
But i decided otherwise - and after i bought the UK 3.7 P-47 i played also in constant full uptiers hundreds of 6 vs 6 matches together with US players - and no JP fighter is a threat even for a 3.7 P-47. You can BnZ them the whole day if you know what you are doing. And since they put the US D-28 at 4.7 it became even easier.
So i totally agree that it is extremely frustrating going into matches in which you have no realistic fighting chance vs the 4 guys with a BR 1.0 higher - but i still can’t understand the panic in this thread.
I don’t see anybody in this thread trying to justify a BR change planned by gaijin. I am not sure if you have noticed that gaijin is doing whatever they want - and that player feedback is usually useless.
As long as nobody realizes that gaijin looks not on kills per spawn or per death these discussions are pointless. It is obvious that gaijin determines for their vehicles target parameters for SL & RP income (different for TT vs Premium) and as soon a vehicle earns too much an uptier is triggered, same the other way around.
So if you compare the TT 6.7 aircraft in the 2 screenshots above you can see that the F Mk 24 earns way more than the others, quite simple…
