I apologize if there is already a post about this topic, as I did not see one.
So, anyone who has played the Spit Mk. 24 can tell you that it’s a good aircraft. Good performance, cannons are okay, good aircraft overall.
However, it is by no stretch of the imagination an overpowered or meta defining vehicle. Heck, at 6.7, I’d say it’s pretty much perfectly balanced.
Now here comes the issue. I’m sure I’m not the only one looking at these changes in confusion. The Spitfire Mk.24 to 7.0? Really? This is where it was before, and to be honest it was pretty much obsolete. Sure, you could make it work, but at that BR you simply aren’t a useful asset to the team.
Now that they are raising it back to 7.0, it’ll have to fight Mig-15’s and Sabres, which will be virtually untouchable for your average Spit pilot. There realistically isn’t much a Spitfire pilot can do against one of these jets.
I request that this change does not go through, as it really is not necessary. The Spit Mk. 24 is perfectly fine where it is, and I have had no issues with them in the 5.7-7.7 BR bracket.
What is the general consensus in this?
(And the Spit Mk. 24 going up in BR before the BMPT’s are above 12.0 is… really odd.)
It was 7.0 initially. but struggled so badly it got put down in BR.
Its strong for 6.7 (mostly because everyone keeps trying to turnfight the spitfires like total morons) but theres more powerful planes at the BR such as yak 15 and BI. the p51 h NA at 6.3 is also a better plane IMHO.
props shouldnt be above 6.7 unless every single jet from 6.7 onwards goes up too
Give me a Yak-15, P-51H, or F2G any day of the week over the Spitfire Mk.24.
Also, people turning with Spits is probably honestly the same reason all the Japanese planes are going up. People just don’t know somehow to not turn with them.
yea the zero, mk24 and LF mkIX nerf is 100% because people in BnZ planes keep trying to turnfight.
i remember when the mk24 was at 7.0 my first game was awful. i ate a proxy missile instantly from some jet i dont remember. didnt touch it again for over a year lol
Gaijin literally has no idea what they are doing lol, this isn’t new either we’ve seen them bring vehicles down, they overkill the BR then they get sent back up and rinse and repeat or you have bad vehicles go up, they suck balls, then get brought back down then go back up.
It’s literally a filler change because they have no idea what they should change to make the list seem big.
Eh it’s an aircraft that was already on the good end of 7.0, its better than most early jets and is significantly better than even a P-51H. I thoroughly enjoyed it at 7.0 and putting it down to 6.7 I found was hilarious, letting it fight 109Ks and the likes. I think 7.0 is perfect
the main issue with BR changes is that its ignoring vehicle capability, it only takes player skill into account.
theres things like the F-5 that sit at an extremely low BR for its capability because USA players suck, while the venom is the same BR as the hunter and higher in BR than sabres, despite having the slight performance of 7.7 jets. nations with bad players eat good as the statistics will force planes into being OP and undertiered to counterract the skill issues
Both of those are fairly easy to deal with as you can out everything but speed the MiG-15 and the 163 just has to wait till its out of fuel. 163 should be like 7.7. MiG-15 is just undertiered
what spitfire isnt strong (other than FR47, that thing is a steaming pile of trash)
it turns good and climbs good, but its very slow for the BR.
honestly its usually better to be using the mkXIV as it turns almost as well but is a lot faster from the griffon engine. the LF is just spammed more as it ends the one circle faster and is incorrectly in the USA and USSR trees to allow the larger player pools to use it too
