the issue is the engagement range , u would need ARMs to match the SAM’s range , or you would need to get extremely close to use any other type of missiles. yea but i also feel like kh31/58 may be over kill , kh31p uses an initial stage booster n switches to ramjet engine so it will maintain its speed for a long time and kh58 (modernized variant ) has wayy too much range for war thunder. i can see them adding kh31p which is the earliest ARM variant and would have the least range of other ARMs. but the issue is that a single flanker can carry 6xkh31s.
how many missiles would the SAMP/T get in war thunder ? 2 launchers = 8+8 + radar ? or can it carry more ? for the buk m3 gaijin can go for 12+12 + radar or 6+6 + radar.
Assuming Gaijin replicates systems currently in game, it would be 1 Radar module and 2 Launchers, so 8 + 8, and then a resupply, so 32 missiles

Only French jet that carries ARM is the Mirage F1 iirc lol, that’d be quite an up tier to deal with top tier SAMs.
For the rafale, it has to be stated that there’s some equipment that could help dealing with SAMs, such as the ability for the RWR to get 3D position of enemy radars and get a GPS/weapons lock on the target

Excellent find, I as well been passed along material that corroborates this, it was used in a naval capacity after all. Multipathing is more likely to be a balancing factor in game, though I believe we should petition it as a bug report for a response, should Mamba get added.

i think they should at least reduce MP for SAMS to 10-20m or it would be wayy to easy to counter SAMP/T , BUk M3 , every radar guided SAM , u can simply fly at 40m and gun them down.

I have a question about the Arabel radar.
What exactly does “refresh rate” mean?
If I understand correctly, 60 rpm of the radar means that the radar rotates and updates once per second, but I don’t quite understand what “Refresh Rate 4 seconds” means.
Are the radar’s rpm and refresh rate separate functions? If you could explain in more detail, I would appreciate it.
I think it means a target classified as non priority will be refreshed once every 4 rotation.

This is correct. Priority targets, those being actively targeted, update ever second. This was poor phrasing on my part as there is also some material the references response time not as the actual physical capabilities, but including the human approval process for target engagement. I’ll make it more explicit in that section, as it is further detailed better later on.

The only good thing about it is that it’s being replaced by an actual good one (Ground Fire 300) soonish

The biggest pittance that Gaijin could give should this system get added is skip to the NG, even the lack of NCTR is very disappointing.
Heh, if it’s correctly implemented it would still most likely be the best SAM compared to what there is currently in game. (correctly implemented meaning having an Aster that behaves like an Aster and multipath fixed)
Arabel is quite limited : slow refresh rate on non priority target and 70km of max range - less than the missile - but still quite huge in game X)
I don’t even think we’ll see the system next patch tbh, despite what was stated by the devs, because they may have mixed the Aster 15 in here somehow
Due to mentions of it being usable in conjunction with external systems, it’s possible the target identification was delegated to them, as friend or foe. Still seems like an oversight to engage so far without knowing what you’re shooting at, though a really fast missile heading your way would also be very obvious.
