The Re.2005 VDM situation is crazy

Oh 100%. Vehicles should perform as they do in reality, nothing more or less.

For report. Fly like MM 494(first prototype) at 100%.

Unfortunately it’s the same for a lot of us, but we can get our money back if we ask all in a list, and maybe with the help of consumer’s associations

this is actually infuriating like how is this not take into consideration man wow so its true 2005 in battle pass we have the 494 performances instead of 495 in the game jeez how could they missed this much

Why do like half of your replies start with “okay bro”?

This is a discussion post, someone made a wrong claim and I corrected it.

because your correction was unnecessary and implying gaijin have a set standard is incorrect. please try and stay on topic.

What? Are you sure you’re not confusing them with someone else? That sounds very implausible, considering Gaijin has focused on an aggressive pay-to-win model from the start.

Did you make sure to read the user agreement carefully when you registered for the game?

My friend, you can say whatever you want about it, but: if I go to a greengrocer who has placed a sign that says bananas on a crate of watermelons, I can legally request a refund, in full compliance with European regulations regarding consumer rights. If the producer refuses to provide the refund, the consumer association intervenes, providing free legal assistance to resolve the problem.

They may have writtens that we do not take responsibility for anything, but when it comes to buying and selling, all companies have rules to follow, and gaijin is not the exception.

Well, something tells me Gaijin’s lawyers don’t earn their keep for nothing, and if things were exactly as you say the company wouldn’t behave like this.

In any case, from this thread I gathered that the main battle pass reward is basically a copy-paste from the tech tree with a different propeller, and it’s not worth spending time on.

it’s the base of my report that have been dumped

The situation is quite complicated.

We have test data for the first prototype MM.494.
Condition: 1250 PS at 2600 rpm and Piaggio prop.

Spoiler

Then test data from German compares 18.02.1943 in Guidonia Kurfürst - Bericht über Jagdflugzeug-Vergleichsfliegen bei der ital. E-Stelle Guidonia.. Condition: italian DB605 with Piaggio prop on second prototype MM.495.
Remark: in the note to G.55, there is a mention that the italian-built engine had 100 hp less power.Maybe again 2600-2650 rpm limitation.

Then we know about instalation original DB605A-1 with German VDM propeller on second prototype MM.495(April-June 1943)

In general, even if the facts are indirect, it means that we have 3 or 4 different technical configurations.

  • Fiat RA.1050 RC.58 Tifone engine and Piaggio propeller(MM.494 and first version MM.495) - 629 kmh at 7000m
  • DB605A and VDM propeller(MM.495) - 650 kmh
  • DB605A with MW50 and VDM propeller(MM.495) - 720 kmh at 7300m
  • DB605A(?) and Piaggio propeller(TT Re.2005 serie 0) - 650 kmh at 7000m

Another point is the engine limit of 2600-2650 RPM for Italian engines.
Data for G.55 show 1250 PS at 2600 rpm.

In conclussion Re.2005 VDM fly like early version MM495 with limited engine power and Piaggio propeller. We need info about June 1943 trials(Reichlin or Guidonia) or about instalation MW50.

Dear All,

With the cards we have in hand today, we can’t meet the requests made by the developers. I wrote to Daimler’s historical department, but they don’t release documents related to World War II due to their policy.

I also contacted the Historical Archive of the German Armed Forces, and they told me they are considering the request, but given the large number of inquiries about World War II, it will take some time.

We also reached out to the Reggiane Foundation, but their building is currently under restoration, and access to the Reggiane archives will only be possible starting in January. However, they confirmed that they have no problem providing us with documents on the Re.2005.

As for the Reggiane Re.2005 – Assembly, Adjustment, Use and Maintenance Instructions for the Re.2005, it hasn’t survived, or at least we haven’t been able to find a copy. If anyone has it, please contact me via message. Thank you.

I still need to contact the Historical Office of the Italian Air Force in Rome, but they only allow physical access, so we would need a volunteer to go there.

The library of Volandia, located in the former Caproni workshops — which owned Reggiane — is temporarily closed. Volandia is actually close to where I live, and I visited it last Saturday. I would also note that at Volandia there is an MB.326K RS-25 currently under restoration — the same variant featured in the game. I asked for a copy of the aircraft manual, but since the aircraft is still property of the Italian Air Force, they said they are not allowed to provide it. In any case, I confirm that the engine model used in the game should be updated to a later version. see my post on the matter.

I also still need to reach out to the GAVS in Turin and the Caproni Museum in Trento, where the remains of the only surviving example are preserved, but in this case too we would need a volunteer to visit in person.

any collaboration to this case is welcome

The War Thunder team would like to express our gratitude and remember Marco Oculisti. A good man who was at the root of the Italian Tree community effort. Marco is no longer with us, but the Italian Tree he started and helped to develop has found its way to our players.
