Su-35 is coming soon, comrade
(Not going to lie, a Russian jet being the Chinese’ fastest jet is funny if not sad)

I specifically recall hardlock being mentioned, but of course now i cant find the specific patchnote lmao.
However, I would prefer a J-16 with sufficiently good performance. China isn’t short of fighter jets that match its capabilities in terms of performance. The Su-35S, F-15EX, and J-16 are all among the strongest 4.5-gen fighter jets. For now, I can only hope that Gaijin won’t make it any worse.
Based on the available data, it seems that the flight performance of the J-16 and Su-35 is similar. The only factors that can affect their capabilities are those damned radars and missiles. It will be the PL-15 and R77M that determine which one is stronger in the game.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do about that early game, but good positioning mid to late game and you’ll do fine
Here ya go
Two separate signals are now used by ESA radars to search and to track targets when in TWS mode. As a result, just like in a hard lock, it is now possible to track targets above the horizon with any radial velocity, and targets below the horizon with lower radial velocities are now trackable.

The J-16 uses the same engines as J-15T, does it not? In that case it’s more of the same, except you might have more countermeasures?

Su-35 uses the AL-41 engines the Su-30SM2 has in-game and it’ll have slightly less drag due to no canards… I wonder how their flight performance is similar lol
In fact, according to public information and suggestions from forums (of course, I have no idea what Gaijin will do), the engine used in the J-16 is the WS-10B3, with a thrust of approximately 140–145 kN at test bench conditions. Additionally, the J-16 is actually lighter than the Su-35S, with an empty weight of only 17.7 tons.

Pretty sure this was axed in favour of the non-thrust vectoring WS-10B?
The B3 isn’t a vector engine. In the high-resolution photos from China’s military websites, it can be seen that the structure of the internal nozzles in the J-16 differs slightly from that of the WS-10B2. This is generally considered to be a characteristic that distinguishes the WS-10B3 from the WS-10B2.
ah, i see, thanks.
I noticed that according to forum discussions, the empty weight of the Su-35S is only 16.9 tons. However, various sources I found on Chinese websites indicate that its empty weight is 18.3 tons. That’s quite strange.
J15T use the N011M BARS 3d model in game

What’s even stranger is that, according to the forum’s suggestions, China’s Su-35SK and Russia’s Su-35S are virtually identical in every way. Yet, the empty weight of Russia’s Su-35S is 16.9 tons, while that of China’s Su-35SK is 19 tons.
the empty weight of Russia’s Su-35S
The Russian Su-35’s empty weight is 19t, where do you get the 17t from?
All credible sources point to 19
I can’t send pictures on the mobile app. However, I saw this number in the forum under “Suggestions” > “Russian Aircraft” > “Su-35S”. It’s 16,850 kg.
Yeah that number has been thrown everywhere, but the Su-35S is listed as 19t in more than two or three sources, that comes from the structure reinforcement of the jet to carry more fuel, and it likely also considers the Khibiny ECM pods installed on the wingtips.
I know it’s hard to belive that it is heavier than a Su-30, but it is.
Okay, it seems the Su-35 and Su-30SM2 should handle pretty similarly.
Pretty much yes.
Could be that the Su-35 has slightly less drag since it is canard-less, but a marginal change.
Yes, the arrogant production team wants to enhance a certain vehicle, but they have deep malice towards some series. When we put forward opinions, they will say “there is not enough evidence”. It’s funny that they installed an omnidirectional radar alarm on Su 30sm2, which has no basis in public. The production team should be glad that most Chinese players will not come here to speak out.
