Failed attempt at trolling. Those normal vehicles are where the fun is.
Yeah, there are a few outliers, but most high tier premiums are at best just C&P of those found on the TT, if not just outright bad vehicles (unless you are talking about the soviet TT, at which point they are pretty much P2W)
Yeah. I find the most fun premiums, to me, are at lower BRs, anyway. Like the Somua, or AVRE, or Sea Vixen, etc. I buy premiums based on how fun they can be. Their help in grinding the line is always secondary.

I have over the years bought quite a few of the British premiums. But the only one I’d actually play for the vehicle and not the Economy modifiers over the TT version is the Sea-Vixen. (though waiting for Red Tops to be fixed before i get into it again). If SRAAMs ever get finished then the Harrier Gr1 might also get a looking at as well. But yeah, unless they added something like a Premium Tornado IDS or Harrier Gr7/9. I mostly play the TT stuff these days.
(though I have got everything I want researched and my SLs stable, so I do get why people want to use a premium to grind out what they want faster, but i’d not consider it all that “fun” to do)

I honestly have to agree with this - people just seem to want the ‘latest and greatest’ and only that instead of the entire game experience.
I’ll be clear though hindsight is 20/20 and back when I started this game I think I was the outlier in that I didn’t really want any specific top tier and even to this day I don’t really feel that need for one - however, for many other people I would argue that because they haven’t experienced all the gameplay yet they want to see for themselves if it’s to their liking or not. I can say top tier isn’t the most fun this game offers, but other people might want to just get there in the first place in part for that accomplishment but also because they themselves want to judge. It’s kind of like parenting in my opinion, where our parents told us many, many times something wasn’t the answer - and yet we still do the opposite quite often for the simple reason that ‘we’ll find out on our own’. It’s the luxury of being that far into the game and I just hope newer players understand this enough to maybe heed those words a bit more than they would normally.

I have fond memories of things like being excited to unlock the Bf109’s, and then finally getting the Bf109-K4, wanting to unlock the Corsairs, etc. Top tier wasn’t even a concern for me. I was happy with completing the small goals I set for myself along the way, and actually enjoying piloting my planes.
Now the trees are just glazed over by our player-base like they’re some roadblock. Quite sad to see the current state of “gaming”.

To each his own & perception. The BP is literally all I do anymore, I actually stopped grinding for specific vehicles before the BO and was already doing just Daily & Special tasks gathering FREE booshes outta the Warbond Shop and then they introduced BP. So basically the same thing I was doing before only now with a LOT more prizes/awards . . and yeah it is very much “worth it”. Even if you pay GE’s for it, they give you 10 days premium time at lvl 14, which if you paid for that, is half the cost of buying the “Full Meal Deal” BP. I bought and paid for the first few, I liked selling off some vehicles in the Marketplace, taking my “earnings” getting some GE to pay for the next one and buy a few odds & ends. But they make you wait so long(I don’t know why) to sell BP vehicles that I just keep them and work to lvl 125 and get the next BP FREE . . . so there is no expenditure after the first one really. It’s a matter of setting your priorities and allocating your play time. BP isn’t for everyone, no . . I’m not saying that, but for those that enjoy that type of “completionism” it’s ok . . . lol. But if you’re a player grinding to get top tier and all that . . . then it is merely a “side hustle” if you want to do it . . . even the boosters help with that tho, so . . to each his own
Yeah, I’m British, and only really interested in the British tree. So I’ve gotten nearly everything research in most of the vehicle types. I personally enjoy the top tier stuff a lot more than the lower tier stuff.
I’ve never bothered with the BP, in part because until recently it wasn’t doable in SB but also because the rewards always seemed a bit meh, yeah you can make some cash from it, but never felt worth it for the amount of commitment it felt like it needs. As for premium time. I usually just buy a year’s worth with the Christmas GE sale

Sorry you compare the game with in real life. Game can’t compare with in real life because game is different because must games offer options for extra advantage over non paying players. In real life you are stuck with the same job and daily life you are doing unless you got lucky to find better job or win the lotto jackpot.
Playing premiums-vehicles is just nice. For a player well down in the southern half of the skill-ladder (like me) it makes ground battles affordable. They keep me playing and spending some money. Imho an excellent choice for gaijin and me.
I have had other experiences in my life. I went from broke to own a house in 10 years and left my country where I was born. That has only to do with my mindset and the decision I made.
Life gives some people also an advantage over non paying “lifers”. And that is the mindset problem I’m talking about. People think always that is not their fault for beeing poor or that they don’t get any further in life. That is the same in game. If you start to work on yourself you will get a different experience in life and gaming.
Btw you don’t have to agree. It’s just what I learned in my 40 years on this planet.

Are red tops broke right now? I was trying the vixen out probably a week and they seemed a lot worse than I remember back when I played it religiously in 2021
Very very very much so. They did an aerodynamics overhaul for AAMs end of last year and basically forgot to update the Red top and SRAAM (and probably a few others) they’ve had some patches and so are semi-usable. But they are attrociously bad and are both due massive overhauls. A lot of data has been found about then and TLDR, in addition to massive guidance fixes. Should both probably have double the range and limited all aspect capabilities. Its a real shame. Ive not touched the Lightning or Sea-vixen in nearly a year because the Red tops are so bad currently
I wondered if I was rusty or if they gimped the Red Top. There were instances where I should have definitely hit, and they just quit tracking out of nowhere.

Yeah, not you, I’ve seen so many miss what should be an easy shot well within range. But yeah. Britain = Lowest Priority at the moment, especially a lower tier missile on only 3 aircraft.
I don’t agree what you said that people poor are they own fault. I’m not going further in discussion about that because it has nothing do with the topic.

Fun and wanting to play a tank warfare based game was and still is the only reason I play this game. It has major frustrations no question and the recent changes with things we can’t talk about has amplified that a bit. But it is still better than the other choice out there.
Learned early Premiums come with a very limited advantage if the player owning it hasn’t learned the game, the hardware and lastly developed a keen awareness of the rest of the player base and who is just a little too good to be natural talent when they are online.
Frequently the premium tank hardware as an example is par or sometimes less in the stats than comparable tree machines, the SL & SP gains and occasional trick paint scheme are the only real advantage.

I play this game since about 6 years now, i kind of started all tech trees, even the chinese one.
I used to be very after the russian tanks, but a while ago i lost every interest in russian tanks and now i play everything else except my russian tanks.
I found it very nice to go through all the contries and get every tank.
I never bought a premium vehicle or invested any money. My top tier is 8, a german leopard, but i found game is not so much fun in the high tiers.
I mostly stopped playing ground battles because of the map changes ( that dont fit my style ) and the epileptic trees, now i started gearing up in the air.
And they add garbage in the middle forcing you to grind everything on that br otherwise you are not allowed to grind the next techtree. Shame but it is the nature of the beast when there is no competition and they do whatever they want to do with no remorse. It"s capitalism baby! Welcome to the club!
