The audacity of gaijin to nerf the pl12 into oblivion genuinely destroyed the top tier Chinese air tree, the PL12 is a worthless air to air piece of garbage within 10km. The missile does NOT pull. There is no reason that a missile that can be found at the highest tier of gameplay can be ROLLED like a 25g aim 7 sparrow. The missile has 38 Gs on its stat card, and there is genuinely no way the missile is pulling 38 Gs close range. Not to mention the fact that the PL12 wasn’t even an overpowered missile in the first place, it had good range, good pull, and it was on decent airframes. It was outmaneuvered by the mica, and the R77, and out ranged by the 120c5. The PL12 was never the BEST at anything, yet the decision the nerf the missile was made. Nobody asked for a PL12 nerf, nobody needed a PL12 nerf, and now everyone who took the time out of their life to grind the Chinese air tree all the way to top tier has wasted their time because their best air to air armament can be outpulled and rolled close range. The PL12A is better, but the GNSS doesn’t save the missile in the slightest, range honestly is not that much of a factor because launching a missile from 40km at someone who is even slightly competent will notch and one chaff the missile. Destroying the missile’s close range capability also immediately destroyed the missile’s worth in air rb. Whoever came up with the idea to nerf this missile, needs to be fired as well as whoever decided to approve this godforsaken choice.
Especially since we have documentation that says the PL-12 is slightly better than the AIM-120B (a halfway point between B and C), and the PL-12A being comparable to the AIM-120C-4.
The first nerf was sorta understandable: there was no AIM-120B when the nerfs to AIM-120A and PL-12 happened, but they should have reversed those nerfs once we got the R-77-1 dominance and the AIM-120C and D. But nope, instead let’s punish the Chinese!
They quite literally killed an entire tech tree. Only plane worth grinding china for now is the Mirage. PL12s are dogass now. Its so sad.
i agree the china tree is dead now every toptier uses pl12 it was never a busted missile decent range good pull and it needs to return back to old values

What’s crazy is that literally nobody and I mean NOBODY asked for a PL12 change. Meanwhile we have MICA’s and R77-1s raining hell on 14.7 but yeah lets nerf the PL12. They were good missiles yeah, but no reason to nerf them. Now there just slightly better than the already neglected AIM-120.
