One of the two is a general purpose AGM and the other is a dedicated anti anti air missile
The Kh-38MT doesn’t care about what it is launched at, as long as it has an IR signature
ARMs can only target anti air vehicles with active radar systems
Against SAMs these may be similar, but not in general use and again, adding ARMs doesn’t solve the actual problem AND it makes life harder for non-Pantsirs
Exactly unless you catch the BMPT hull down and it’s turret is the only thing exposed then you’re just cooked if you fire. But I’m talking 12.7 and lastly I don’t want to take away from this forum so you can tag me in BMPT topic. I agree it’s a tank that shouldn’t be in game hands down.
Ah! Thanks for the plain english, it’s an anti SPAA bomb that makes sense why it would be good. But if it’s detectable it’s still useless against the most broke SPAA in game. 😭
At that point you’ve already screwed up by exercising poor EMCON, and if you can’t move you’ve (or your team) now need to intercept it (depending on the range that it was fired at, and Gaijin’s implementation of IR signatures for missiles) everything with a radar should either be able to intercept it or be unable to be targeted (e.g. LAV-AD) in the first place.
I don’t think it’s able to track relevant tactical systems, the -31PD might be (similar to AGM-45-10 seeker + D band)
Also following the link it’s gimbal is only +/- 15 degrees so is very constrained, also as a massive missile short range performance will obviously be constrained.
This literally is just punishment for the non-Pantsirs trying to do their job in an environment that already makes them suffer from numerous problems
You can’t expect there to be multiple anti airs up at the same time and even if there are multiple ones up, they may not even be able to intercept the ARMs either
You already have FnF helis completely overwhelming most anti air vehicles and planes either launching Kh-38s or tons of glide (or rocket propelled) bombs and now even cruise missiles
As soon as a SAM activates it’s radar it will have to worry about ARMs being sent to them, once they suspect one has been launched they have the choice between
A) focus on destroying the ARM, potentially using up multiple missiles (of which their supply is limited) or
B) stop trying to do their job ASAP and move out of their current cover to avoid getting killed by the ARM, which potentially leads to them getting killed by a tank
Again, ARMs would be another thing to make the game harder for the weaker SAMs, meanwhile the Pantsir will just treat them like any other missile
I highly doubt Gaijin would implement a system to stop certain radars from being targeted by ARMs
C-RAM will literally keep any bombs, rockets etc from entering the airspace in any map not blocking sigh of its radar and eliminate low flying CAS near by.
Attempting to add anything “broken” will have to be made up. The C-RAM is combat proven to clap
