What are you talking about lmao, NATO CAS still absolutely decimates teams when in the hands of a skilled player.
You forget - one or two Pantsir SVs = no NATO CAS.
You either have to fire off your missiles from extreme standoff range - which allows the SV player all the time in the world to intercept them.
Or, you can go in super low and try to gun-run them - in which case you aren’t exactly doing much of the ‘S’ part of CAS.
Alternatively you can try to SEAD them - in which case they’ll probably shoot your ARMs down and you’ve wasted munitions hardpoints in the process.
In order for your skilled NATO CAS player to even be able to think about doing their thing - a lot of things have to align perfectly…
So yes - just stick the RU vs RU teams in with eachother and leave them to it. It would dramatically improve the experience at top-tier straight away…
Or, the more realistic approach, Gaijin could turn top tier into mixed battles. That way both teams get Russia, and so both teams get the Pantsir.
In the meantime (or maybe just keep it this way permanently?) they can implement ways to make NATO SPAA more effective, and raise the 12.0 Pantsir to 12.3.
make it NOT a free SPAA as well, replace that shit with the TOR
That is absolutely not true but alright. I’m speaking about this from the perspective of not 1 or 2 planes, but multiple planes with the addition of a helicopter thrown in there.
And it wouldn’t improve the experience, because NATO CAS would just start bullying it’s own SPAA, it’s already been well established most multi-vehicles aren’t even good to begin with. You end up trading most times, especially on maps that don’t even favor multi-vehicles in any regard.
So the problem doesn’t trace back to the Pantsir, it traces back to CAS as a whole. Removing the Pantsir puts everything right back to square 1.
Heck, II have the NASAMs, I already know how it plays out, you genuienly don’t win against NATO or Russian CAS, or helicopters, you just die or trade, or get hit by any nations ARM fired at low altitude that your radar couldn’t pick up in time.
Or die to AH-64E or Z-10E because they carry so many fnf missles, they deplete you faster than anything else and intercepting every one is not guaranteed, ON TOP of the fact it’s easy for helis to avoid fox 3s
12.0 Pantsir is not 12.3 material lmao. I would expect a vehicle like the Tor-M2 to be 12.3 since it has better missles that aren’t heavily reliant on inertia and burn through the entire flight and not be easily outrolled.
The only effective way would be to straight up rid of multipathing. But once someone closes the gap, you’re already dead anyways
The problem DOES trace back to the Panstir SV.
NATO vs NATO is actually pretty balanced. There isn’t an SV equivalent - most of the multi-vehicle systems are close enough in performance - so CAS of one side over another is not negated or hobbled just because you happen to have nation X on one team.
It really isn’t a massive overstatement to say that the SV is such an overtuned, over-performing piece of RU handholding BS on tracks.
CAS only becomes an issue if one side’s counters vastly overmatches the others. Russia does get that with the SV, it also has arguably some pretty strong KH-38MT carriers and CAP options on top. That’s not even mentioning the LMUR.
Well, it’s arguably better than other 12.3 SPAAs. It’s also one of the only SPAAs at that BR that can defeat LDIRCM helicopters.
The famous no NATO cas that happens in SRE? Oh wait no air still dominates ground teams by huge margin :D
4x Rafales / Eurofighters or 1x Mi-28NM / Z-10ME / AH-64E, 3x Rafales / Eurofighters VS 3x Pantsir SM-SV, sure.
If it was a fair fight (4x SM-SVs or 3x SM-SV, 1x IRIST / 1x Mamba), I think ground teams would win most matches against most air teams (a lot of air teams are incompetent, and it’s genuinely difficult to break through all the inteceptions).
Though that assumes the air team’s ground team doesn’t break through the line / flank and kill the Pantsirs… something that you can’t really expect your random team to do in GRB.
You forget that with a great FM comes great responsibility. It sure is different, harder to use, but I wouldn’t say weaker at it’s own BR. Potentially they’re just as strong. You just have to use the 500 km/h speed and 800m altitude advantage. Or just top down the SPAA (cries in 85° gun elevation)
I don’t mention anything else, because there just isn’t. Kh-38MT (the fake missile) have a stupid monopoly. There is no other supersonic FnF A2G weapon for NATO that can target tanks and has consistent damage aside from Kh-29, which is, surprise surprise, also soviet and can only be found on Chinese stuff and 1.5 German Su-22.
Typhoon in ground battles probably has one of the worst flight models.
If you fly flat out you are too fast and rip
So you fly slower you lose so much energy evading. And because of your frankly terrible ground attack missiles (Brimstones) you need to be low and fast which will get you killed by 2S38s/HSTVLs and IFV with an autocannon.
At low speeds you stall and flat spin while a flanker or even F/A-18 do not do that.
Typhoon is good if you can get close enough and they have no SAMS. Because you can bet your bottom dollar, when you kill that T-90/M1 they are spawning in their proper SAM or free ADATS/Pantsir and your nice low Typhoon is easy meat after a Brimstone run.
Unfortunately those are also some of the best spaa killers
Same goes for LDIRCM helis
Euro FM is terribly unergonomic tho, gaijin seriously needs to fix that
They are great for Helis and SAMS that are not focussed in on you. But recently man it’s hard trying to get anywhere near them when you have a couple of SV Pantsir and a BUK/Iris T lofting missiles down on you.
Those aren’t scary for the euro.
Buk especially
The SM is the scary one
It’s the multilevel of threats, BUK drops them on your head while you are low breaking LOS of the Pantsir SV. Plus I dont have the AESA Phoon yet so we have that useless Radar that sees nothing
Buk won’t be able to see you if Pantsir can’t see you
Making it a non-threat
You can also multipath/notch buk
Due to warhead size on BUK missiles multipath is not hundered percent effective.
I think you miss spelled “best”
