I feel people who talk about KDs of AA forget their use cases. A remarkable number of pantsir S1/SM players use the damn thing as tank destroyers because they can’t handle the 2 minute wait for an aircraft to spawn, which absolutely tanks their KD for obvious reasons. The actual kd vs CAS only is like 6 lmaooo and multitudes above other AA

People do this out of desperation, like ADATS for AT. Its uncommon, most of them sit in spawn.

6 missile ammo capacity (12) with launchers is not good.
Of course this is tied with several other vehicles,(the 1st NASAMS truly being the worst with only 4) but since the BUK relies mainly on it’s tracking director, (not the search radar) it’s performance isn’t all that great from the get go since it almost never has ample time to keep the plane in that scope.
Presumably as with any type of jamming or clutter, it would depend on the range to the target. Most CAS players operate within >20 kilometers. That is not sufficient enough for that kind of mechanic to work.
Now if one is assuming they’ll use it at close range like a dumb munition that just clutters up the radar when they initiate a pop up attack, that’s not how that works.
and in the proccess of adding something like that, you will screw over all the other SPAA. As game/map design generally doesn’t favor the multi-vehicles in any regard.
Not to mention we STILL have CAS players complaining that SP is too high.

Brimstones with F&F wouldn’t really be that strong, their range still sucks and the missiles are slow. Actual evil would be introducing smart cluster munitions (CBU-105, AKA destroyer of entire teams carried in the tens on F-15E)

That depends on how you view it, when any other nation has something worse in their inventory, they get newer things to fill that gap at some point in time.
The BUK objectively was not good, but obviously the new Pantsir wasn’t needed… “just because”. Same argument can be applied to all the newer SPAA before it.
Why did they need it, “just because” CAS was so powerful (Not just Russian CAS) “Get better” or something, whatever the CAS players keep saying nowadays, I don’t know it’s irrelevant.
And it’s not like anybody is giving credit to any of the newer multi-vehicles, because most times you end up dead, they really aren’t that good, not compared to the Pantsir. Everything else is just a mild-inconvenience, but not a lot of the CAS players obligate themseleves to having those lackluster vehicles being improved so…
