Yes that is literally what balancing means.
But other tanks get dumbed down in armor, selection of ammo, reload and mechanics like turret baskets.

And devs could improve arh performance so other systems like sampt, claws, hq11 get closer to iris t.
Also ir missiles are inferior against munitions afaik. Plus buk launches missiles at better angle and launchers have their own track radars. Also its telephone poles have bigger fuse radius and bigger amount of tnt iirc.
Because bots had access to some esp wh which allowed them to launch missiles without lock at aircraft hidden behind terrain. And those missiles didnt give rwr warning in case of such launch.
Ground is still major contributor to battle result. Even in su34, even with kh38mt, even without enemy aa, I still watched soviets get steamrolled by usa. Because they lost completely on ground. Cas only helps in some rare edge scenarios.
You will still have to get close with current munitions. Gnss works on stationary targets which wont happen in grb, ir/tv locks at at 10/5/3 km, unguided… well you understand. And arms lose speed and give aa even more time. So they disable radar for bit which is enough for arm to lose track.
Only downside that would be present is for a10c, bigger maps will make its life even more miserable with current battle duration and its speed but thats another topic.
Im sure it would be more balanced than sm sv. And people wouldnt complain that hard. Nobody cries about tor because it has reliable weakness. And tor m2 would have it too. It would win at high range, lose at close, not just screw everything that moves at all ranges.
Turret baskets were quite literally applied to every tank. the T-series didn’t get it because they essentially don’t have none. But that’s still debated, and it almost wouldn’t matter because any center mass shot is a debalitating shot. But of course, if players bring min-ammo, then the carousel won’t be fully stocked with ammo.
Essentially, but this is multiple problems of “balancing” not just 1. You put it back to square 1 and it’s still unbalanced to some degree, with a lot of factors contirbuting to that and since CAS isn’t neccessarily getting any nerfs, and they will actually be getting more stuff. So…
Too me, the entire situation feels like CAS players feel pushed since they can’t pushover most SPAA and that they have to remain on top in ground based gamemode. But that’s just me.
CAMM-ER in fact does not reach the 45km range.
Depending on how the target is flying, it falls out of the sky around 25 - 30 km.
I’ll look at the rest of what you said later, this is just the easiest thing I can quickly reply too))
The problem with the execution of this weakness is that it’s already super easy to get within close range on most maps, especially if your primary target is taking out the SPAA first before anything else. It’s not like we have big maps where you have to work your way into those close ranges and SPAA are reliably able to fire at range to deter the aircraft.
most of the stationary SAMS are supposed to be screwing things over at long ranges, but currenetely map design and issues with weapons amongst them limit that greatly.
Mind you the IRIST got nerfed because players were complaining about it’s effectivness, well before the SM-SV was added. So again, too me, it seems CAS players really don’t want anything deterring them, regardless of what nation it’s from. Since this is from Russia however, much easier to slap the bias label on it.
Figures much
Challengers dont have one either and even if they did the way its modeled in game is not how baskets work and if were going by Gaijins explanation why they work that way then the carousels should do the same blocking the baskets do. And thats not even mentioning the other 3 things.
But everyone has CAS, not everyone has an SM SV. Why is this such a hard concept for you to understand?
Both T-80, T-90 and T-72 have something that gaijin considers a turret basket
Im pretty sure there are tons of players without cas who complain about one nation having counter to everything while others are doomed to lose.
Devs could execute it similar to nuclear thunder but it all gets stuck at queue times and players unwilling to occupy certain roles (bots could occupy lacking slots I guess but gaijin needs to seriously tweak them). Also grind. And sp system would have to be removed because it wouldnt make sense in such mode (could snatch respawn timers from escalation tho).
Probably because certain players (I wonder who) became unable to poop out 6 kh38mt from outside aa range and rtb. And those players had to learn how to trick irccm which is taboo for average wt player.
For some people maybe. But there are people who dont follow this agenda and still admit its op.

How do I know it’s op?
I’ve used it, and I’ve fought against it.
And yet, years later, weapons that would effectively neuter it, like Brimstones, are still being artificially nerfed for the sake of “balance.” I really cannot understand why Gaijin is holding back on it when SM-SV has over 48 missiles ready to fire.
That or remove its top missile, it has no business being in the game as it is.
Brimstone would just add to the cancer.
Solving cancer with more cancer does not work.
Best thing we can do rn would be to give the SM-SV a delay between missile launches like the S1 has
And rightfully so, that thing at launch was the most broken SPAA ever added to this game, including SM.
Its the same now as it was on release tho? They just changed the seeker activation range for a month or so, because it was so insanely unreliable at intercepting AGMs and then they reversed it, because it was unhistorical af and literally didnt have the desired effect.
Also literally the most broken SPAA just until the next update when they added LDIRCM helis (Edit: with FnF) and the SLM got countered harder than the Romans at Cannae
LDIRCM (at least for USSR/China) was in the same update as IRIS-T.
Yeah true that but the FnF AGMs came an update later which made those helis problematic.
Me in my chally2 get disabled by a fictional turret basket.
While T-series didn’t get it in warthunder.
Yes you are right, i forgot they reversed the change. But now we at least have ARM’s to stay away.
It’s still an incredible annoying and broken AA, especially how radars can track through buildings and terrain. Would have loved the shitstorm if it had a RU instead of DE flag on it’s side.
Also still seems to have the best K/D, because even a monkey can look at an excel sheet and press the delete button.
Offtopic:
You say that but immunotherapy (using a normal sickness to ‘unlock’ the immune system response to cancer that is usually suppressed) is an emerging field of medicine
On topic: f&f mmW weapons too strong for grb sure but would be really nice in air/nuclear escalation + just let me use ADM-160 to saturate a pantsir 2’s radar screen and force him to waste missiles on a decoy that can be carried in big numbers
Ok fair enough, but you get my point anyways right?
