Welcome to the age of ESA radars.
Except for any nation that isn’t Rus or China. SPYDER should have similar polling rate and scan clarity, but it scans slower than a Gepard.
What’s with these new radars? Are they special?
These so called new radars aka PESA/AESA radars works different way than regular pd radars.
Basically instead of scanning one zone entirely they constantly scans wide areas in such small time.
Not just Russia or Israel.
IRIS-T should also be ESA radar as well as well SAMPT Mamba and Sky-Sabre.

with the Type-03, but the gigantic arc it does make it not uselfull for any targets under 4km, and is way more subject to multipathing since it has 1/3rd of the Buk TNT euivalent of explosive.
Rlly? I’ve seen ppl shoot a spike down with a Sidewinder before.
Spikes do show up on search radar as you get a hud icon (rectangle with a triangle in it) denoting where they are. But you cant lock onto them with track radar (ive not tried IRST yet). You can intercept them normally, ive done so multiple times with the TKBs.
Spikes can be intercepted as they have a physical model (ive even intercepted it in pzh2000), they arent any special. On longer maps like Tunisia you can intercept them pretty easily.
