The AGM-65F which has way better amount of TNT sometimes will fail to kill a tank, especially if it hits ERA, cannon or a turret with a lot of composite. So yeah, trayectory at hitting the roof its very important.

The big problem with the AGM-65F is the SAP-HE warhead
When a SAP-HE Maverick hits ERA it will not only fail to overpressure, it also won’t cause any meaningful amount of spall
The regular HEAT Mavericks perform better, not only when hitting ERA, but also when hitting barrels, as they will cause spalling, as long as the jets penetration is enough to chew threw the ERA or hit things behind the barrel
Both variants have a hard time overpressuring MBTs unless they hit the roof, as they have a rather small TNT equivalent compared to other ATGMs of that size
Even the “bad” FnF heli ATGMs will deal more damage when they hit a sub-optimal spot compared to the SAP-HE Maverick
In other words:
If you have the option to go with HEAT Mavericks instead of SAP-HE ones, use the HEAT variant

The entire reason for CAS existing as a thing is that Ground maps aren’t fair, and that by design it is possible to lock down a map by holding a few power positions. CAS’s role is to prevent a match from becoming static. Similar to Arty’s God’s eye view in WoT.
So then where is the distinction between Contrast & Correlation seekers, MITL guidance, LOAL, or MMW seekers, or Submuntion dispensers. There are a ton of Things that Gaijin have omitted for Game balance. Why not exercise it in this case as a gaming convention in order to better preserve balance?

AFAIK the apache uses IR/UV sensors and also the nose camera to create battlespace sensor awareness and pipes that to the pilot/gunner’s HUD and the map on their console. That’s also sent via link to other units too so their fellow helis see hostiles via their helmet HUD.
For example the RWR on the apache should put the SAM location on the map letting you throw a hellfire at it.

However on the other side russian cas is so easy an 8 year old could get 6 kills in 2 minutes. Russian cas actually does something, and that in turn contributes to the team winning.

Hell, it gets worse when you remember that the 2S6 was always 10.7 while the ADATS was 11.0 (at that time, 11.0 was top tier). We complained for years that hey, the 2S6 was the best AA because at the time it had the highest range of any AA in-game. Yet it was lower BR than all top-tier AAs. Well, Gaijin did move it to 11.0, only for a month later to hit it with the SACLOS nerf. Every missile-equipped ground vehicle in the game was destroyed by this, but the 2S6 was hit the hardest. It was like this for one full month. By the end of the month, its BR was sent back down to 10.7, and the Panstir was added. Furthermore, it was unerfed back to its former glory too. All Gaijin did was a physop to replace it with the Panstir and keep it at the inappropriate br of 10.7 when it is an 11.0 vehicle.
As well how could Gaijin think that the Buk was underperforming enough to add this when SPYDER miles behind its nearest peers in terms of preformance.

Assuming that all the pre-made fragments fully inherit the missile’s speed of 1700mps, the mass of a single fragment would be approximately 30 grams. 30 grams, 3500 pieces, this is already very problematic
