The new GRB CAS SP system should have more divisions

Currently, the SP system only has a divide between A2A and A2G armaments, however I propose one additional division. Unguided A2G versus guided A2G.

Making this division would not effect WW2 BRs or toptier where CAS is the strongest, it would only really effect 8.3-9.7 where CAS is unarguably in need of a buff.

  • Add more divisions as said in the post
  • Add more divisions some other way (comment)
  • Do not add more divisions

submit this as a suggestion, sounds like a good idea

Would love to see this but i wonder how hard it would be to split. Would Gaijin would probably make it too generalized like making Bullpups and Mavericks be in the same category. It also raises the question of CCRP and CCIP and if using them with dumb bombs should be considered ‘guided’ or if they would fall under the same category as a WW2 dive bomber

Bullpups and Mavericks both shine at different BRs, so having them both in the same class makes sense.

Same goes for CCRP and CCIP. It’s only really relevant between 7.0 and 9.7.

That really doesnt solve the CCRP/CCIP issue

It’s not an issue though. We see CCRP and CCIP at a BR where SPAA is becoming too strong, so this would be a great way to buff 8.3-9.7 CAS.

But theres an argument to be made that CCRP/CCIP would fall into the “guided” catergory and wouldnt allowed and “unguided” options for higher tier jets

This is just about the armaments themselves, not the planes.

The ballistic computers on the planes increases the effectiveness of the armament

Are you trying to make Guided A2G same SP or the Unguided A2G cheaper?

They’re at a BR where SPAA is also buffed so it balances out.

I’m saying guided A2G and unguided A2G should not effect the SP cost of each other

Youre completely missing the point, it blurs the lines between guided and unguided

What?? Guided A2G shall always be a little more expensive then the unguided one.

No not really. There is a very fine line between guided and unguided munitions. The only difference is the plane that carries em.

Dude, I’m not saying they should be same price. I’m saying spawning one should not increase the price of spawning the other.

Yep. back when the Tornado GR1 was one of the best CAS aircraft Britain could run. It always annoyed me that taking guided bombs cost the exact same as taking unguided bombs, despite the obvious and significant difference in risk/reward for both weapon types.

As a result. I never took unguided bombs. It simply wasnt worth it. If they had cost less. Even just a little. Then there would have been a reason to do so.

Imo SP does need an overhaul in terms of loadout:

  • Remove SP cost for most A2A weapons and reduce the cost for Fox-3s
  • vary SP cost from BR to BR (unguided weapons being on par with guided weapons at lower BRs, but becoming cheaper at higher BRs)
  • At high BR, unguided weapons should cost less than guided weapons
  • Vary SP cost based upon quantity taken
  • Have SP Cost be affected by mix and not just the most expensive item attached (some aircraft can take a powerful combo of weapons, but this isnt factored into the spawn cost)
  • Proactively increase the SP cost for specific weapons as a balancing tool.

There really isnt much of a difference betweena bomb dropped by CCRP and a GNSS guided bomb

Just tossing GPS guided bombs into a pile with all other guided weapons is better imo than what we have right now.

You are misunderstanding and oversimplifying everything I say

I think you’re overcomplicating the issue.
