The MI28NM problem

how russia feel with kh38 and lmur

Neither can the high tier SPAAs because of magic missile shield.

if anything the type 93 is better because contrast lock can ignore the IRCCM

(its interesting that they still refuse to give the late stingers their contrast lock)

It has a high output draw but you need to deliver thattout put accurately and for long enough time to actually affect the missile. There is no reason to assume it could and not marketed to do so.

Imaging seekers aren’t affected by dazzling, they are technically speaking not hugely different from low resolution thermal cameras.

Afaik stinger k might have datalink but yes still the same seeker as the B variant, which is ir/uv using rosette scanning. It shouldn’t have a contrast lock, but it should have little issues targeting drones and helicopters, there is a reason these kind of seekers are called pseudo-imagers and that’s because they process a ton of information and have limited forms of target recognition and can reject flares by virtue of noticing them as such.

yes, it is a psudoimager, but IIRC the UV is operating more similarly to a contrast seeker than an IR seeker does

and due to the UV seeker it should be similarly immune to IR countermeasures (including DIRCM and LDIRCM)

If you watched the video the AH-64E LDIRCM isn’t dazzling (blinding), it’s a different form of thermal spoofing.
It creates a duplicated thermal source tuned to the vehicle’s heat output spectrum. The imager would see two IR objects. How the imager reacts to that is anyone’s guess.

Well it means 5 gen wouldn’t be affected at all, since IIR seekers also work with detail recognition and I doubt any LDIRCM can project a picture of a second helicopter. Wrong language though - it can’t, period. For mi-28nm’s LDIRCM it’s probably one of those chinese laser pointers slaved to MAW system, It certainly can’t even track incoming targets normally, let alone create a 360 degree magic protection bubble.

Do Adats/ITO90\other previous top tiers suffer same problem?
I remember using Tan-Sam from 11.3 and it worked

Empty claims.

No, all manually guided SAMs are unaffected.

So you think it’s entirely reasonable, let alone possible that a single, tiny LDIRCM module mounted under the rear belly can somehow interfere with targets THROUGH the fuselage? Sounds like the real empty claim to me.

Russian LDIRCM is designed to counter MANPADS while flying low, it’s not like CIRCM or mini-music which is dedicated spherical protection.

Increasing the dead zone of mi28nm ldircm due its position is a very unpromising nerf.

When the developers fix this, there is a 99% chance that they will add an additional ldircm on the nose, which the new mi28mn has, and almost nothing will change.

Except cost an extra 400k RP, right? It’s not like the AH-64E is all too different from the AH-64D in game.

You’re an optimist. They’ll just change the visual model of the helicopter and that’s it.

Developers usually don’t change vehicles from one modification to another if there are different names, but simply add them separately.

The Ldircm under the belly works so good in game, it couldn’t stop something that was in its “optimal” conditions.

Considering everyone now gets an IR atgm with the AH-64 accept Sweden. I think top tier will be great

No more complaints… unless you play Italy or sweden

The nose will not give protection to top down missiles.

I think they will model it something like that. That will be enough for 95% of all cases.

Ah yes, if only there wasn’t an AGM missing half it’s features while other gets it’s full glory 🥀
