They are affected, it depends on the laser wattage. The CIRCM/LDIRCM of the AH-64E is powerful enough to damage the imagers per the paper that you yourself posted.
I’m unaware of the Z10 or the MI28 LDIRCM wattage
From the IRST paper in that bug report it’s resistant to “blinding lasers”
low power blinding lasers may be blocked but higher power damaging lasers are different.
I personally dont know the wattages of each nation LDIRCM bc they are also classified, im just working with general information and patents about the capability and limitations of LDIRCM in general against IIR. Yes the paper states that you need a laser with > 100 w to damage the seeker, but again not sure where you get the wattages that the ah64 have.
Also the consume of energy its not equal as the amount of energy the laser emits.
You guys are right. CIRCM does not damage. I concede on that point.
Here’s how CIRCM works. It uses lasers at the exact same IR wavelength as the heli/plane.
I think in ingame mechanics it would in effect be a constant every direction flare stream coming from the vehicle.
How this interacts with the IRS-T’s I’m not even sure.
