No thanks I keep taking them out in my t-114 with all 4 shots if I need to when someone bring them in my match.
instead of lowering its BR or doing some complicated balancing they’ll never do like limiting uptiers to +0.3 or 0.7 only, they could simply buff the reload speed since they often do their balancing with it

Ill agree to a down rating… If Gaijin properly simulate its drawbacks. Relative in game speed needs to be capped about about 5mph, slow to 1mph on any slope greater than 2 degrees. It needs to break every bridge it drives over, indeed weighing in a 188 tonnes, it would wreck most roads and wuld become bogged down in even fairly light mud. It needs to run out of fuel after 6 min. Can only ever be one active on a team. And of course sucks up so much material from the war effort that it docks 50 spawn points from every other player on the team.
It being uptiered to fight ATGMs and early APFSDS is quite literally necessary because only recently did Gaijin make mid caliber HEATFS worth half a damn. However, Solid AP and APDS are still dogwater and unusable.
The Maus doesn’t need a downtier.
Sure but facing very often ennemies that can totally neglect the only advantage of your tank is incredibly frustrating.
Never the Maus need to stay at BR 8.0 you never face against platoon maus then good luck. Almost entire team got destroyed by platoon maus because they know how to cover each other side and badly we didn’t have Marder or BMP-1 in the team at the moment. I see maus getting kill by atgm or by planes/helicopters must common and very rare by tanks because it survive multiple pens from standars shells and the 6 man crew means that thing will not run out of crew fast.
nah, i mostly disagree. There are some valid points… but 7.3 or 7.7 is the best BR for the MAUS. Sure it does little Too well in a full downtier (but lets be honest… those are very rare) and it does very poorly in a full up tier, and then pretty mediocre in the up tier variations. I think the Maus is in a good spot and should stay where it is at.
It is “balanced” where in a full up tier it gets wrecked (and then again, does a little Too well in a full down tier.)
An IS3 can destroy a MAUS
Agree … got yesterday a match where the enemy team went all in. We faced more then 10 Maus over the whole match. It was tough. We only won because we worked together and flanked like hell.
If realism is the goal, when clicking the Maus to try and spawn it, a pop-up should appear saying “The vehicle was destroyed or captured at the manufacturing facility, please select another tank”, effectively preventing it from ever seeing combat, as it actually was.
Actually quite a few things can pen it still. The bigger issue is that the rounds which should (mainly APCR & early APDS, but also some HEAT) either 1) can’t pen it due to artificially nerfed penetration (example: 90mm M304 should pen 310mm vertical but ingame does only around 270mm) or 2) they pen it but do abysmal postpen damage (all APCR, APDS, & HEAT(FS) really).
Undo old nerfs on the stuff which should be able to kill it, and not only do problems with the Maus being “unbalanceable” evaporate, but so do related problems on a multitude of other late-game heavies.
The Conqueror, M103, Surbaisse, Surblinde, Caernarvon, T29, T34, T32s, those all suddenly become miles better than the Maus if their best rounds actually do real damage. Even the KT105 becomes arguably better, as its (admittedly fake) APCR round pens similarly high amounts to the T29’s when put through better armor pen calculators than the game’s current one.
The Maus’s proper contemporaries are things like the the IS-4M, IS-3, T26E4, T26E5, the currently-missing Caernarvon Mk.1 with a 17-pdr, IS-6, T-10A, etc etc.
And should penetrating it in a slugfest fail, you can always just bomb it. It’s not like it can run…
