This thing and the AVRE are literally the same vehicle spec wise? if anything they should be equally bad lol maybe the M728 slightly worse because of that stupidly huge capula

They are the same BR’s and have the same SL and RP modifiers, but a few differences - the CEV has thicker front armour and is faster forwards, the AVRE has ERA and smoke grenades - which I think are more useful than the ESS of the CEV. The AVRE also has faster reverse (12kph vs 8), which is pretty important.
the CEV has dual gunnery control, but it’s greater magnification for the gunner sight is a bit of a 2-edged sword with hte low velocity gun IMO…

Remember that the Centurion AVRE has the bug that the added hull armor that should be 44mm is currently 10mm.

Never exactly a good sign of survivability when a Tier III WW2 era tank can easily just penetrate a modified version of the M60A1 Main Battle Tank frontally…

Based on all-player stats the Cent AVRE is still somewhat better in RB (statshark.net), but they’re close enough… but in AB the Cent does SIGNIFICANTLY better at the same BR, probably for a combination of the reasons given. I suspect because the M728 is seen as “the same as an AVRE” it’s being held at a higher BR in AB than it really should have.

In AB the M728 is currently the “worst tank” by any metric. Not even the L3 is close, really. In RB this is the current wall of struggle buses (not counting Russian rocket and AA trucks, source: statshark.net again). The FCM is currently only #5 on the worst, H.35 is actually ahead of it, sorry OddBawz (#8 if you count the trucks, only vehicles with 10 or more total games last month counted):

Of course that only considers K/D as its measure. There is also how much fun or interesting-i-ness it is to play. Which is subjective. That is why I agree with him on the FCM. That one is just not much fun to play no matter how you measure it.

I wanted to get this but I couldn’t because it’s labeled as a “pack.”
I tried buying it as a pack but just got a 404 page. (I also got a 404 page when I tried my browser)

Wierd. They must have reverted it back to its original icon/link early before the time expired and it went back to hidden. And of course the store item it points to no longer exists.

This makes me sad because I’ve wanted M728 since it came out. I am also disappointed that you don’t get a decal for the Army Corps of Engineers.

The vehicle is a complete waste of GE because HESH is absolutely bloody worthless as a shell type in the game because of your incompetence, Gaijin.
Fix it before you try to sell vehicles that can only fire HESH!

I truly admit that I have both the Centurion AVRE and the M728 CEV purchased at 50/50, but I know exactly what they are: they’re tanks for fooling around and not expecting to have good games with them.
I personally buy premium tanks because I like the 3D model, without thinking about whether they’re good or bad. That’s why I bought those two vehicles. However, as bad as they are overall, what’s unacceptable is that they perform much worse than in reality. The Centurion AVRE needs its added hull armor fixed, and the HESH damage model needs to be completely overhauled. Because it’s one thing to buy a tank knowing it was more or less good, but it’s another thing for the developers to trick you by selling you something half-baked and in need of correction, which at the rate we’re going will never be corrected. And they still have the nerve to put it up for sale as if it were something special, when it’s nothing more than an unfinished vehicle completely forgotten by the developers.
That’s why, as I said, if someone likes the 3D model, no matter what you do in-game, buy it. If you expect to use it to make money and have good games, forget it. You can always spend hours using them in test drives, and it’s free.
