Munitions can be added for balance yes, if it can be proven that the vehicle can use the munition.

This proves that veak can have hevt back then. Because bofors l/70 can use hevt. Just like sergeant york and cv90s can have those currently. Because they all use same cannon

They tested the maus with a simulated turret (block with same weight as turret) and found it could move but it was too slow for what they wanted.

The Veak 40 is just bad after its HEVT rounds got removed (at least from my point of view). Any player that is not stupid enough to charge head on into its 0.8 km range can easily dodge the low velocity rounds. The lack of proxy fuse and the swaying of the radar lock makes hitting targets extremely difficult. However the major problem I’m having is not with this. I haven’t personally checked, but do the VEAK and the CV9040 use the exact same version of the L/70 (there are many)?
But again, the vehicle was decommissioned years before the round even existed.

It is not the same as having the technical ability AND existing at the same time.

Didnt delve deep into that but judging by rpm values from wt wiki they indeed use different variants. Wt wiki should differentiate them instead of just generalizing with basic “bofors l70” then.

RPM is only parts of it as well.
I know Wikipedia isn’t the best source but it gives at least some insight into how many variants there are (give or take).

I think a couple (or several) of these use the same breach and barrel though.

The B variant is just the L/70 optamised for use in custom mounts such as IFVs etc.

Uh, I might be mistaken, but aren’t chambers for L/60 and L/70 different?

AFAIK modern 40mm (L/70) uses longer rounds because it has bigger chamber, therefore round used in L/70 cannot be used in L/60s?

The VEAK has the L/70 gun and in-game fires the ammunition intended for the L/60 gun giving it lower exit velocity. There are modification kits so that the L/70 can fire the L/60 ammo but as far as i know those conversion kits were only used for training and exercise.
And even then it still should have higher exit velocity than the actual L/60 gun and ammo (which it doesn’t in-game).
