Swedish Navy Tech Tree

With the major naval powers of the Second World War now having their navies represented in War Thunder, it’s worth considering what might be next for War Thunder naval. The remaining nations without naval trees never had any dreadnought battleships or equivelant vessels in service, but are still interesting navies worth adding in their own right. One of if not the most significant of the remaining navies is the Swedish Navy, complemented by significant Finnish contributions. Both these navies have long histories and were powerful regional forces in their own right during the 1900s. Following the Second World War, the Swedish Navy was the sixth largest in the world. Moreover, the vast majority of the vessels in both these navies have been domestically built and feature many unique technical solutions. This post serves to show the viability of a Swedish Navy Tech Tree and a representation of what this tree might look like, as well as a general index of what Swedish and Finnish vessels might be relevant to War Thunder.

That’s why everything is calculated in advance, and in truth, a ship is born long before it reaches the shipyard, it’s born in the final construction blueprints. Will navy branches include projects that were never realised in metal, but existed only in blueprints, not to mention those that never got past the stocks?

Yes well don’t be too impatient when you see the lack of work on the French navy + the absence of its coastal fleet the next navy is not for now because Gaijin must already finish the work on the Royale, and I hope Gaijin doesn’t do this to ruin the Swedish Navy. As a Coastal fanboy, Sweden is an absolute must have TT. This could be the mighty Coastal TT, second only to the Soviet Union and Germany, and in addition to the many ships with Bofors 40mm that have already shown excellent performance in the game, a ship with Bofors 57mm should be an absolute delight.
Even considering the somewhat small number of battleships, I think this tree will be excellent! I believe in the success of your suggestion.

While I have considered it, I try to reflect Gaijin’s state of implementation with this suggestion. Personally I’d love to see Danish and Norwegian vessels implemented, especially seeing as there was important cooperation between the Swedish and Norwegian navies during the time of the union. However, as there are no Danish/Norwegian vehicles outside of premiums in the existing tech trees at the moment, I plan to refrain from adding them, just like this tree didn’t originally have Finnish vessels on the old forum. Granted, I believe there is now some kind of cap on how long you can edit suggestions for which might make that idea difficult.

From a game perspective specifically, Denmark and Norway sadly can’t fill the main gaps in the existing tech trees and thus would be mostly “filler” more than anything else in pure gameplay terms. Moreover, both nations have very extensive coastal fleets in their own rights and could honestly build an effective coastal tree on their own, albeit that this coastal tree couldn’t be able to be supported by the other tech trees due to a lack of Danish/Norwegian vehicles in other categories. I will also note that I have included one Danish and one Norwegian vessel, both with Swedish connections, namely the P550 Flyvefisken and the P960 Storm

At least I think Swedish Navy and Dutch Navy are very suitable for being together. Mainly Dutch can fill up some odd blanks for the Swedish Navy (Since many early Swedish destroyers certainly can not compete with many destroyers in War Thunder in firepower).

Following a series of updates, the latest of which added a number of new top tier vessels, the tree now features Swedish and Finnish vessels operated by Estonia, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago, the UAE, and Malaysia. Additionally, there are vessels from the USSR, Italy, Britain, and Germany operated by Sweden and Finland in the tree.

Hello,
I have my own two cents to add to this:
In case of a swedish naval tree with a norwegian sub-tree, my idea would be to add the KMS Blücher to either that sub-tree or as a premium.
Yes, I know norway never had her in service, but I think it would be a great way to comemorate the sinking of Blücher by the nowegian coastal defence, using fairly outdated weapons.

I’m just throwing this out here and would like to know, what you all are thinking. Is this a good idea?

Such cases are not present in War Thunder and it doesn’t really make sense, at best it’s just some novelty at best.
Even that is hopeful, considering how many people it would piss off.
