Most of the people who aren’t either british mains or australian/canadian citizens, which meas likely the overwhelming majority of the playerbase will probably agree with me.
A lot of people from different countries can’t form their lineups because their nation’s vehicles are spread over different trees. Why should you be different, because you are a british main and “muh commonwealth”?
There isnt a dozen of them there is a few that got added to britain cuz they didnt had a place to be added to, so hence for being part of a colony and either being a Unique vehicle mod from australia they have it to britain, and yet the subtree status has been denied over and over, it’s not a null point, You just refuse to believe a fact over something called cope quite frankly
Leopard and Abrams were denied because Britain never used them and no connection.
But then we get a T-90 instead?
We also wanted a modernised Hunter, such as the Swiss F58, where did that end up? Germany. which has no connection at all to the Hunters (and at the time, Switzerland was not a sub-TT of Germany)
Even the Canadian F-86 Sabre appears in the German Tree at the moment and not the British Tree despite the RAF operating them for a number of years. Made sense at the time why they wanted to limit the C&P, but these days, it feels like gate-keeping for the sake of it.
Given the choice between South Africa and India as a Sub-TT or Canada and Australia. I suspect that the latter would have won overwhelmingly if the community had been given the ability to vote on the matter. It is a real shame that we will likely continue to see native Canadian vehicles added to the British TT but core vehicles will be denied simply because they were built by another country. I can see why that would piss Canadians off.
Probably only for the British mains though. It’s widely known that British mains only mainly want the Canadian and Australian sub trees to get free access to top tier vehicles from other nations.
Like I said, The T-90S was a mistake imo. One of the modified Challenger 1s by other nations would have made for an equally cool squadron vehicle. I also disagree with the most advanced Hunter going to the German tree.
I prefer variety/identity between different trees over variety within a tree at the cost of the former.
The reasoning behind gaijin adding subtrees seems to be more in, the later the relations with britain the better or just random choices but it seems to be more of adding nations that were most recently related either in a deep political or military level altough i would like to know the line of tought of the devs on adding this subtrees honestly, but well that is gaijin issues just remember that gaijin had planned ASEAN for china and if it wasnt by the heavy ammount of backlash they wouldnt have backed off from the “greater china TT” like they called it
Yep, choice A should have been a modified Challenger 1 or something. Choice B should have been a Canadian Leopard. The fact they jumped straight to choice Z is really annoying. And yeah, still mad that Britain has universally the worse Hunters. (French Hunter F6 is at 9.0 in Sim and to me looks like a really fun and strong aircraft to use at that BR, RAF Hunter F6 is a bit of a slog at 9.7)
to be fair if you wanna play sim i see no problem getting the swiss squadron hunter or the french hunter, they arent to hard to get the swiss one even easier.
for single line up in air the nation doesnt realy matter besides how annoying it is to get there, which is a no problem for the swiss one
Modified british vehicle seems better over leopard 2’s, Ive said it before but adding other TT vehicles on TT’s to reinforce the lack of good vehicles kinda kills their playstyle specially if it’s gonna opaque their actual Unique TT vehicles, 2 thing may happen, either the better vehicles gets played more and now Main tanks are barely used making TT uniqueness not a thing anymore opaquing current domestic vehicles or they get blatant ignored cuz people simply didnt want it, i honestly don’t like any of both and hence My inherent hate towards adding T90S to britain or Leopards 2 to france when what they needed it’s fixes not new vehicles that don’t seem to fit or belong there
Swiss one I do have unlocked, just not gotten round to spading it yet. and slowly grinding down the French tree using the Mirage F1C-200 i got in sale last year. So again, I may eventually play that. But I think the point still stands that its really frustrating that the nation of origin seems to have the worst versions of the Hunter (and It doesnt even need to be that way, plenty of bug reports open for the SRAAM for example that would really bring it back up to competitiveness, if not, then it should get a BR drop)
If a nation is underpeforming, step 1 should be to make a serious effort to fix existing vehicles. Step 2 should then add export variants or other to support the line-up. The fact Gaijins default is to slap a Leopard or T-series tank into a line-up without doing anything else is really bad. Still think there is room for an Leopard in the future (perhaps make a half decent event vehicle) but I will always take major buffs for the CR1 and/or CR2 over it.
T-90 should just be deleted from the tree at this point
Perhaps, but given that the Hunter F6 in the British TT is barely playable at the moment (in ARB) , but the Leopard 2A7V steam rolls most other nations just fine. I dont think its entirely the same.
well at least i am willing to discuss the canadian 2a6, germany got the unique 2a4m we wanted
now we only need to get the full revolution package, before gajin does another KF41 and refuses to add them to germany
but yet , for air its not as important because there is no line ups, 3 strv122s vs 1 2a7vs.
I’m fine with an event for Unique mods of premium but their idea of slaping a copy and paste and boom fixed it’s what sets me off, for example thai subtree Will ads Unique variants of existance planes with new stuff and that’s Nice specially when Japan didnt had any other option except a few domestic that would be hard to balance, but what about stuff like France that has so much cool tanks that could be added damn Even Unique light tanks and stuff and yet nope, copy and paste to fix it
Honestly imo the best choices were one of the Jordanian upgraded Challenger 1s. After that I think the Squadron vehicle should have been either something from britain itself or a vehicle domestically produced or heavily domestically upgraded by one of said nations.
Something like a version of the canadian LAV (seeing as squadron vehicles don’t have to be MBTs) or even something like a version of prototype of the Arjun.
I just don’t think something like a 2A6 or SEPv3 should just be pasted everywhere without reason.
Given the fact that at the time, we had almost no IFVs, but at that BR, a fairly decent set of MBTs. It still baffles me that they went with an MBT (any MBT) over an IFV or a half decent light tank. A Canadian LAV III would have been perfect. But yeah the Challenger 1 Falcon would have been immensely interesting addition for our tree (though I’ve seen a few american mains freak out about Britain getting an AGS)
At least for me personally, the LAV-III with the 25mm, the LAV-III TUA or LAV-6 would have been a lot more excting for me as a squadron vehicle at the time.
At least it would add some utility to my lineup at the time, still would even now.
Yeah, it really would have. The fact that the T-90 was originally planned to come 0.3 BR higher than anything else in that line-up (kinda like the Jaguar IS did) does kinda show how little they actually looked at the tree before deciding what to add
btw… funny thing but when switzerland is officialy declared as a sub tree for germany.
Germany can ask for the canadian LAVs on the basis that the LAVs are based on the swiss MOWAG Piranha
