The Leclerc is in dire need of a buff

Perfect, now we can request that the Leclerc be renamed Pignata.

In short, nothing good, only bad: no modifications to the UFP, nor to the level of titanium armor on the S3, nor to the engine, etc…

And it’s not for lack of having submitted written reports.

Not everything is a deep seated complaint about in game performance, I know it’s useless to the hitbox since it’s been here for as long as the Leclerc, it’s just unsightly, is all.
Same as the exhaust fumes clipping trough the upward bend, I know it’s nothing, but it still bothers me.

Well, frankly, I think nitpicking such trivial details is silly.

These are visual quirks, not things that affect the gameplay.

The way they’re currently modeled is pretty beneficial to the Leclerc’s survivability.

I’ve seen enough. T-80BVM is meaningless in comparison to such extreme survivability. Put Leclerc at 13.7.

So… They added new modules to Leclercs but they still ignore all the information about spall liners and wrong armor as whole… Classic gaijing…
Hopefully, some of these “new modules” gonna eat some spall and Leclercs will become a bit more survivable… Otherwise, it’s a HUGE nerf for them and NOW we really need to do something with missing spall liners and wrong armor (atleast make gaijing to add spall liners)

That turret basket and enormous modeled FCS were exactly the kind of buff Leclercs needed ngl

There are currently no open reports on the spall liner or armor (except for the side armor).

What are you talking about?

We have this, it’s accepted but not implemented due to lack of info, but it’s the best we have I guess.

Frankly, the sources here are absolutely lousy.

Considering that we have brochures and excellent books on Leclercs, the Russian magazine TANKOMASTER (which, by the way, is about assembling vehicle models) is obviously a terrible source.

Didn’t the developer later respond that they’d conducted research and found no spall liner?

If you think the report contains good evidence, you’re mistaken.

Tomorrow I’ll ask my local french military base to show me their Leclercs so we can finaly know the truth behind all that

Oh, not saying they’re great, but the correspondance mulatu mentionned makes me think, one day they might be able to find nice sources on this, this is not today though. :)

The proofs for the Leclerc spall liner are kinda… all over the place. In one hand, the supplier for such armor does install spall liner on the VBCI (pending report), and the Leclerc visibly has the same liner as the VBCI, but this is a pretty weak link. For now, there’s no acceptable report for the small liner for the Leclerc (VBCI one is still pending AFAIK).
Armor for the Leclerc hasn’t had an accepted report for a while, and I believe most older reports have been closed for one reason or the other. It’s a bit of a pain to report anything in the Leclerc. There’s missing links at several steps of the tank development

We simply should ask french soldiers how the tank is bruh

They know better than anyone else

Why then do you write as if you have 100% perfect primary sources and that this definitely happened?

Honestly, the sources actually tend to say there was no spall liner.

For example, in Le Systeme Leclerc book, the tank is disassembled down to the smallest detail, but there’s not a word about spall liner.

Please don’t. Anything they’d say would be classified/restricted so unacceptable for war thunder, and could court martial them

The white liner on the inside of the tank that’s served as matting could potentially be a spall liner, as the manufacturer that makes liners for the Leclerc produced a spall liner of similar look. But that’s a very weak link for that

I never said I have sources though, I literally said I they might be able to find some.

So you’re telling me in 2026, on the most expensive MBT worldwide, there is no spall liners ?

Is that /s

Mulatu has mostly stopped reporting. I don’t think we’ll see any meaningful report for the Leclerc anytime soon (from him). It’s just too much of a hassle.
