We all know why. Why would Gaijin devout any amount of resources to making a minor countries MBTs good when instead they can pay an intern in vodka bottles to Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V the leopards a few times.

This is why I’m not looking forward to 2A5NL and 2A6NL at all…
If I wanted to play 2A5s and 2A6s, I would just play Germany, lol. (Or Sweden, which has even better ones).
If at least the NL variants were different in ANY way, even just thermals, I would actually be happy; but apparently they are just identical to the German ones.

It takes longer to develop tanks than to fix tanks.
So these were coming irrelevant of the fixing status of Leclerc…

2A4NL is identical to Finnish 2A4, which is nearly identical to 2A4 (a couple extra boxes in the turret).
2A5NL is nearly identical to 2A5 (different smoke launchers).
2A6NL is identical to Finnish 2A6, which is nearly identical to 2A6 (different smoke launchers and skirts shape).
Meanwhile, to keep France relevant, they could have fixed the Leclercs as reported numerous times, but they would rather just add three German tanks.

God, I regret so much grinding France. If I had ever known the amount of neglect they suffer from, I would have never bothered.

France ground really ends at 8.7 for me in terms of random battles.
I play 12.0 but only to spade.
France is an air RB tech tree for me primarily because there are so few tanks in War Thunder’s top end I actually want to play in random battles consistently.
Not just identical. They are pretty much the same vehicles.
Iirc they bought 100 of our 2A6s when we got rid of them. Iirc initially the finnish 2A6 was even listed as 2A6NL in some of the files initially.

Just had one of my best ground matches of all time in Leclerc. It’s handling just feels right.
It is survivable enough, while reloading faster than most as well as beign abel to move faster than most.
Often you are still able to fire after takign a hit. Combined with the constant reload rate that is a noticeable advantage in game.
Not to say I would not glad for any realistic improvements of course but Leclerc is one of the best MBTs in game.
Don’t worry, they’ll have the same useless hull armour as the Leclercs do

At least their hull armor can resist m735,3Bm42 and other smiliar shells.
Meanwhile even M735 can penetrate Leclerc’s hull while gun shield can be penetrated by 4.7 vehicles.

The 2A6NL will have the same hull armour as the 2A4 (310mm), which is just enough to stop M735

Germany preferrably used 6th - 8th batch hulls with C-Tech for the KWS 2 (2A5 and 2A6 upgrades) but the dutch never made any of those. The last Leo 2NL was delivered in 1986, at least 2 years before C-Tech got implemented. The 2A6FIN, which is a 2A6NL, still has overperforming hull armour ingame. I hope they fix it since they’re working on the 2A6NL anyways.

Leopard2a6 deliveries started in 2000 and every Leopard who has been upgraded to 2A5-A6 standart recieved reinforced hull armor cause it was one of the requirements for those models.
So unless you have exact documents that proves your claim i’ll take that as wrong.
The 2A6NLs were upgraded 2A5NLs, which in turn were upgraded 2A4NLs. Unless you have proof that the KWS 2 included hull armour upgrades, all 2A5/6NLs had B-Tech hull armour.
The Netherlands were involved in the KWS 2 from the start and were part of the “Mannheimer Configuration”, which cancelled the hull armour upgrades.

Second source by Rolf Hilmes: “For the conversion to the Leopard 2A5, the oldest turrets were taken and modified to KWS turrets using the latest D technology. The KWS turrets were combined with chassis with C-technology protection.”
Since the Netherlands never built any C-Tech hulls, they used those with B-Tech.

Honestly a 2A5NL with 2A4 level hull armor and DM33 max (maybe DM43) would make for a decent 11.7 premium option for France.
Not that it would happen, I assume the leaked leopards will go to the tree and just be C&Ped from the German tree.
