The Leclerc is in dire need of a buff

The hype is good

New SturmLeclerc ? 😋

Open Leclerc S1 - just one question. What the hell is this shit?

Type 90
Faster. Better acceleration dynamics. More survivable (less shrapnel generation) No exploding fuel tanks. Same thermal imaging. In theory, can produce the same scrap. Same armor as Leclerc.
Better than a CD shot.
BR 11.0
Leclerc БР 11.7
Interesting fact It was a shell KEW with M1A1 AIM
This tank is literally worse than Arietta because the APDS is worse, but otherwise the same

Welcome to France in War Thunder.

→ The BR of France’s vehicle is inflated because this tech tree only attracts the best players in the game.
→ But since only the best players in the game play this tech tree, it further inflates the BR of said vehicle.
→ Which in turns only drives away bad players. It’s an endless cycle that can only be broken by the addition of a premium Leclerc.

But since Gaijin hates France, France is the only nation without a top tier premium MBT.

That’s why balancing on the basis of statistics is so bad, but the Devs being what they are (lazy), it’s not going to change anytime soon.

It’s kinda cute to see some people still with hopes that Gaijin will ever do anything to fix the absolute mess the Leclercs and Merkavas are lmao

At this point I think you could hand them a document by Nexter signed by Macron with specific KE values and they would just leave it at “acknowledged” at most.

Gaijin “guestimates” when it comes to the USSR : Alright so Putin, while drunk, jokingly said the T-80BVM’s ERA is able to stop an intercontinental ballistic missile so it must be true

Gaijin “guestimates” when it comes to France : 20 documents of which 5 primary source as well as statements directly from the engineers that worked on the Leclerc ? Nah bro, we can’t trust those pesky capitalist pigs. Let’s give it the AMX-30’s armor level

It’s not like there is 30 years separating the AMX-30 from the Leclerc …

Guesstimations using common sense for NATO tanks? Unacceptable!

Best to model the 2024 Leopard 2A7V/HU after the Swedish Trials 1990s pre-2A5 prototype, and Leclercs after the (again) Swedish Trials 52 ton unfinished Leclerc prototype, too!

AND NOT EVEN PROPERLY! (2A7V/HU have worse turret armor than 2A5… or the TVM prototype they are modelled after, at that, lmao)

3.5. It is not allowed to post messages which are not related to the topic of the Forum or post messages in an inappropriate Forum section, or messages which do not relate to the Gaijin’s Website’s subject (for example, unrelated to the news subject on the official “War Thunder” website).

3.8. It is not allowed to […] challenge or discuss corresponding actions of Administration, Moderators (and/or Global Moderators), Community Managers, Coordinators, and Game Masters in any form.

Guys please, keep the discussion civilized, the last thing we want is getting this thread locked.

If you have any concern with the decisions, or requests of Technical Moderators, or generally any staff member, please discuss the matter directly with said person, and do not use the forum to discuss such matters publicly.

Lastly, as it has already been proposed, @totolescargo, @AlvisWisla, @Bossman919, please if you have documents (not classified of course) on a shared matter such as the Leclerc’s armor etc…, please feel free to share and cross your sources in order to ensure the best possible bug report and avoid duplicates.
Do not point fingers claiming that one’s bug report should have been posted first or is better than the other one…
Not only such debate is pointless, but also is counter productive and is derailing the topic.

Thx!

Yeah, the plate that’s visually there in the X-Ray isn’t activated on the damage model.
A bug that requires no historical documents to fix cause it’s a bug exclusively internal with the game itself.
Right now, only the steel plates are modeled for the armor.

65mm of steel x 1.1 multiplier = 71.5 / cos 77 = 317.895mm of effective armor just from the steel.

If the internal plate was active on the damage model, it’d be over 500mm of protection in its current state.

Not at all. You’re completely missing the point.

This is not a technical issue. This is an historical issue. Gaijin models the Leclerc’s UFP according to the Greek trials, during which GIAT failed to communicate in time the thickness of the UFP, so the Greek assumed the UFP to be “at least as thick as its predecessor (the AMX-30)”.

Gaijin has shown they will not use estimations made using common sense, even when they’re based on the words of the engineers that designed the Leclerc such as Marc Chassillan.

Which is why we are waiting for @Bossman919’s unmatched expertise on the subject.

Assuming that ufp performs the same as the amx30s is ridiculous

And yet, it has been Gaijin’s position for the past 4 years despite our best attempts to change their mind, by using primary and secondary sources or even sources straight from the engineers at GIAT.

Anyone believing this kind of poorly supported bug report is enough to change the Leclerc’s armor is kindly requested to stay away from that matter. Devs tend to lose patience and objectivity when it comes to fixing bug reports that keep being reported all the time.

Nice Joke after of all the dumping of fired Russian CMs. And I’m not even talking about Keofox right now.
70% “Technical Moderators” and development teams USSR Fun Team.
And this in not my fantasies. Its this CMs words with all proofs in Russians blogs chats.

Thats why all feedback about Leclerc ignoring. And why the technique is tuned purely on statistics. Without regard to the popularity of this technique among players and the skill of these players.

HAhahah Its Vladuha i know him.
Just keep repeating this thread until one of the European tech mods takes it over. Just trust me, it will work. If the thread is closed by a Russian tech mod, repeat it in a week.

I’ve had the exact same experience when dealing with vladuxa. I still remember how he closed my report on Leopard 2’s side-skirt thickness despite the fact I had uploaded photos of actual tape measurements of the skirt as proof, because, and I quote, “there are two layers for a total of 100mm” (thus completely ignoring how the measurement had been for only one of them… that was his only answer to me, lol.).

Getting him in an armor-related report feels akin to being cursed, lol.

All Russian tech moderators are engaged to close all such reports on improvement of NATO tanks’ characteristics. Trickster, already known to you, is responsible for this. And most likely an unknown developer with the nickname NNHack.
This is a Le secret de Polichinelle in the Russian environment, which was once again confirmed by the fired CMs (Keo is not the only one who was fired).

And i think now i get ban now on COM forum lol’d.

The dude closed a report on a technical visual/modeling bug… using the historical report rules.
To say I’m upset today is an understatement.

On the subject of Leclerc.

@Bossman919
Keep on keeping on.
You have my continued support of your efforts from the new forum’s creation to present.
From new forum’s creation to present, my respect for you remains; all that bug report deserve respect after all, whether technical reports such as my primary bug reports, or historical reports which is your primary.

I of course have not and will never demand anything of others in the WT bug reporting community.
We all work at our own pace, and I know what it’s like to spend 50+ hours of research; especially when that 50+ hours of research results in nothing usable.

So keep on keeping on.
While Vlad rejected the technical report involving the visual plate that’s not part of the damage model; I hope the historical report you’re working on unrelated to the bug I reported doesn’t get on their radar.
