Yea I’m dismissing your idea, because assuming someone’s done a bad job is vastly more idiotic than assuming they’ve got better reasons for why the models are the way they are. You are free to believe whatever you want, it’s not my job to change your mind, and I don’t care enough to. I only came here to share the fact this model exists, that it should be the primary source for the size of armor cavities from now on, and to banter with you guys.
Technically speaking, I could dismiss you on the grounds of you committing yourself to a false cause fallacy, I didn’t, so yea, I’m sorry you feel this way.
confirmed that the leo2 is incorrect
Um, we NEVER said the model is incorrect?
There is no practical reason to produce a fake or altered version for KNDS. The dimensions also line up correctly, and it’s only sensitive areas that have been deliberately removed, suggesting that they didn’t “just do a bad job”.
We’re going in circles now so honestly I’m wrapping this up here, if you wanna continue believing they mismodeled one because the other is “incorrect” (which it isn’t), feel free to. Have a good evening mate.
This is stupid, the armor change won’t even change the gameplay much aside making the hull down better and flat ground worse slightly
Why aren’t we discussing the massive amount of lost speed and mobility Leclerc has, the potential for new ammo types that give different benefits, the side skirts still being devoid of their existence for some reason, the other large nerfs to the Leclerc, especially Azur being borderline fictional,?
Because we still haven’t got regen steering in the game (promised to us about… 11 years ago, by the way), strictly making any mobility discussions pointless as the mobility of modern MBT revolved around them being able to keep their speed when turning.
The max speed is huge too. The 90kmh claim is well-written, has many primary sources, and follows all guidelines. Yet they do nothing about that and let it rot
i mean, we could care less about that aspect either way, we only shared the new official KNDS model with you guys. People of the french community not accepting it, aint on us
Leclerc has exterior and interior fuel tanks.
Red = Interior
Blue = Exterior
The exterior fuel tanks do not cause the tank to explode.
Fair enough.
I thought both upper sides of the Leclerc’s hull had an exterior fuel tank lining the whole way through, but the left side is smaller.
This is definitely more of the case with the 2A7V:
All armour plates should and does create spalling. This is just an instance of the ERA acting like a fuel tank and absorbing most of the spall.
The reason why the shell didn’t create any further spalling is because of the ‘void’ that you mention.
Ah yeah, because it would make sense for the people at KNDS to "leak"full internal models of their tank. You assumed that they somehow decided to remove sensitive info one the Leo but not on the Leclerc. I assume that the model are only used for exterior 3D viewing, and thus only a 3D designer was involved, using blender on 2D geometry patterns to reconstruct the vehicle, which is inherently flawed if you want to try to pixel measure armor layout. The result will be incorrect. Close, maybe, maybe not. The leopard 2 being gutted is a clear proof of that to me. They didn’t have access/used high definition 2D plans, so they were limited in their ability to make it.
Guess the Leo 2 armor needs to be reported as well then ?
Removed, but only for the leo2, that’d be weird. You assume they removed information, I assume that the guy(s) that made the model didn’t have all the informations (because why would you need and want the internal layout to be presented on a public 3D model that can be downloaded by anyone).
We’ve submitted reports for Leo 2s to get their top speed to 72kph and they’re rotting too tbh, dw, it’s typical of Gaijin.
I could submit a report to get it to 90kph too since there’s a vid from Ukraine of one doing that much, but it’s not worth the eforrt me thinks.
And I’d rather focus on bug reporting Leo 2s external model now that KNDS has released a 2A7 3D model that is public, cus it actually allows me to pin point where Gaijin’s done a shite job.
Well there’s a lot more than just ‘can it go 90kmh’ and since videos don’t count, I’m sure you’d need a lot more than just that: I’d support the idea if it does that without changes to the speed governor, FCS, damage to tracks, etc.
thats pretty universal, its the bug report limbo, its stuck into eternity. Trying to get stuff actualy fixed if it isnt during dev server… yeah good luck with that
Good example Tiger UHT & Tiger HAC. Ignoring the general legibility of the Tiger HAC.
The Tiger UHT since years has report for outer rocket pylons, mistrals and so on and on.
But in the end the TIger HAC came with all the features the UHT should have and even with stuff it shouldnt have. Like Asgard armor and even the ability to carry rocket pods etc officialy being denied from the manuals
Unfortunately I know this too well, looking at you, AMX-50’s MG
“We saw the AMX-50 in real life” and they ‘conveniently’ glance over its .50 cal that it replaced the 20mm with, its sad how little Gaijin checks back on things
Oh yeah, that’s also kind of why I’m not bothering to do anything with that. I’d need to use excerpts from the Leo 2 manual, and I’d rather not get nuked by Gaijin ngl.
And AMX-13s, its such a strange and annoying choice
Gaijin will make something for the game then forget about it immediately, like how they claim “Vextra would need to be raised in BR for its buffs to work” while leaving the Roland and AMX-40, both of which are massively nerfed, to rot
It sucks, but it is sadly how it is
If only the community tackled that instead of blaming nationalistic biases or being nationalistic themselves as often happens (Even here, sadly)
Well yeah, the issue is that 9.7 is a terrible BR bracket. You get pulled to the 10.7 Leo 2 premium realm more than half of the game, and the rest is basically 10.3, so you still face them the same you usually do.
I’d rather have unnerved vehicles that mostly fight the same enemies and sometime have higher matches (11.0 - 11.3 up tiers are much rarer) with stronger vehicles than any 9.7 tank (except the Russian t series that can still tank rounds in up tiers)
Well then I don’t think it’s a vehicle issue / placement I’d say.
The matchmaker is the problem.
But besides that, the 2A4 / Abrams got nerfed. They are much more easy to kill.
I can get that.
Though AMX-40, Merkava Mk.2D, and Sabra Mk.1 aren’t that bad in a full uptier.
There’s plenty of other BRs where an uptier is much more frustrating (such as 7.7 fighting 8.7s, or 10.7s / 11.0s fighting 11.7s / 12.0s).
Some can, but some can’t.
T-72A / T-64A can’t even survive an UFP shot against the most common round at their own BR (105mm DM33).
T-64B is much better, but its UFP is roughly only ~430mm of protection.
If it’s only facing 2A4s / Abrams – it’s pretty good.
But most other 10.7s / (even 10.3s) things will go through it as well.
Then you get to the T-80UD, which has an UFP that most (if not) all MBTs can’t pen – even in a full uptier… with only the M1A1 having a good chance.
Yes, along Vextra and maybe Roland (Idk if the proper elevation of Roland would make it worthy of that) Especially since realistic AMX-40 and Vextra are more than capable of 10.3-10.7 (Making a lineup with S. Etendard, 2A4, and the 10.0 Tiger HAP)
