The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

The Kh-38MT is not radar guided and has an extremely low% chance of teamkilling without player input.

So no, that’s whataboutism known as a false equivalence fallacy.

I dont really see what your point is.

They made a huge song and dance about how Brimstone 1s would be too OP because htey outrange SPAA and would be unfair in the same update they add a paper weapon to the Su-34.

The bare minimum is that the Tornado GR4 should have gotten SAL-Brimstone 2s or 3s to compensate, but it didnt even get that

Not at all an issue, as it can be completely mitigated by adding chaff functionality to the genericized smoke formulation that all tanks use.

The advanced development program for the M81 grenade was conducted from 1987 to 1992. in the transition to full scale development, the Operational Requirements Document (ORD) required the grenade to provide IR and MM instead of just MM protection The Grenade, Launcher, Smoke: Millimeter/Infrared (MM/IR) Screening, M81 (Figure 17) was type classified in 1995 and is scheduled to begin production in 1998

That depends specifically on how they model the seeker & sensor, and their integration, so it’s no different to any other store.

It’s hard to know for sure, but my 2 cents are that Gaijin devs added this weapon knowing there wasn’t enough open source data. They are obviously aware of this thread.

We won’t really know for sure what happened until they speak on the situation. Maybe, just maybe, they are working on a blog, assuming they have the community’s best interests at heart.

@Gunjob has a source that somehow the brimstones MMW seeker cant be decoyed iirc. I think it said something like there are no CM’s that work in its spectrum or something? Could be misremembwring though, you’d have to get details from him in an appropriate thread.

That being said, they could just lwt it be decoyed anyways and call it a day. I dont think anyone would think thats unfair.

Ive also made the suggestion post for SAAB Barracuda to be added to vehicles its available for, which should reduce the seeker lock range of IIR and radar seekers, and thats been passed to devs for consideration, which could help a lot with all the F&F CAS problems we have going on atm.

Wouldn’t be the first time concessions are made for Gameplay.

i believe this is just a thing with milimetric wave radars they are in simple terms high resolution radars, but it also depends on the resolution, specially since milimetric wave radars are kinda self explanatory, they work on frequencies so low that they are between microwave and infrared, so it is possible but i would need more data, but not like its impossible, there has been very interesting millimetric radar optimization against clutter and its much more simple than what you might think

I mean, we all know they don’t have the community’s best interest at heart, the only thing they do have any interest in is the community’s wallet. If they do ever fix this it’s because they need to sell more toptier premiums.

Which does make the lack of a premium/SQV/Event KH-38MT slinger rather surprising.

a bit too on the nose I assume

Honestly, I feel like when they eventually introduce new advanced SAMs they will hope people’s interest in this thread will gradually wane.

Not having to explain why Russia got such a OP weapon with no evidence to back it up…

I swear to god if I hear this again, in mode 2 you designate the target it flies there like point fire on IR and TV AGMs and then once at a certain range it would lock on with its seeker. Unless gaijin model it really god damn wrong in mod 2 it should team kill as about as often as IIR missiles, its not like we are volley firing off 10 missiles with out locks and just waiting to see what happens

I think the OP is right, just look at this

You can clearly see that the Kh-38MT and ML currently in game share almost the same aperture on the seeker, but an actual IR seeker has a much bigger aperture (like the Kh-29) because an IR seeker so tiny woudn’t work that well at +20Km of distance, how could it catch an infrared radiation trace when it has a seeker so tiny that would limit the amount of radiation absorbed?
It’s like opening your eye, if you close your eyelids, you will only see the center, while the outline will be darker and blurry, with a really tiny FoV. If you open your eyelids to the maximum you will have the brightest and uniform possible vision and have the maximum FoV. That’s the same
